'Keep your voice down Tilo! what will Narayan babu think if he hears you saying such things about him?' maa whisper yells at me.' He is a very nice man, good looking, from a well known family, well read a BARRISTER and he has returned from England just because he wants to take care of his aging parents. Where else can you find such a sanskari man now a days, tilottama ? so don't be a baby. Take the chai and come out quickly Narayan babu and his parents have come to see you.'

As soon as I serve chai to this "narayan babu" and I have a chance of taking a closer look at him, he does look good. I must say one cannot get a good look from my room.
'Till what class have you learned?' asked Govind ji . 'I have passed matriculation exam.I wish to do bachelor in sanskrit.
'very well.' govind ji.
'Can you cook?' asked Govind ji . 'What about sewing and knitting? Any extra curricular activities like singing?'
God I felt as if I was being interrogated.
Saraswati ji was a small and healthy woman. She wore a heavy sky blue and indigo colored benarasi sari and heavy jewellary. She was a perfect example of a zamindar's wife. But the way she talked told me that she was a loving and sweet lady.
Govind ji was a tall man. The patriarch was a strict and serious man, an ardent follower of Hindu traditions and customs but with a modern touch because he had educated his wife against all odds and also wanted a educated daughter in law. He was just like a coconut, tough out side but warm and soft inside.
As for Narayan babu he was tall, fit and muscular man as well with a sharp nose and a sculpted face, dove like grey eyes, he truly looked every bit of narayan the avtar of lord vishnu. just he wore pants and shirt. guess feerangi misses his stay in England.
After i answered the questions then my cousins took me to my room o the elders could talk.
