He was watching her. From a cracked window that was slightly coated in the mountain's dew. It was a chilly day, one where birds did not fly so early in the morning. It was a day where things were not celebrated, where people were not happy due to the gray clouds that smothered the sun as if suffocating it of its light. The darkness swept over the mountains giving everything an eerie feel to it.

And it was her that seemed to brighten the day, or his day at the least. He hung onto the windowsill, barely noticing his claws that carved feral markings into the wood. He hung onto the windowsill as if it was his last breath.

She was humming quietly to herself, but he could hear every note of music despite the volume. She was getting ready for school, combing her hair with a brush while humming the tune. He watched her every movement from outside her window.

But when she looked back to the window, she did not see him because he had gone. Though, he noted the way she had turned her head so abruptly before diving into the bushes to where he hid from her curious eyes.

Her name was Maggie. That was all he knew, except for her obvious beauty that was so simple but yet so extravagant that she was abnormal from the rest of the humans. She was nothing like him, but that did not keep him from following her.

Her parents had already left for work, and she enjoyed walking to school on days that were as cloudy as this one. He did not know why she did not mind the rain, but it reminded him only of her difference from the rest of them.

The humans that is.

The front door shut and she had begun walking down the sidewalk to her school. He followed her from within the shadows. He noted the curve of her hips and how the rocked back and forth as she walked. He admired her every inch, and as his obsession for her grew, he knew that he could not control his instincts much longer.

He was snapped out of his hungry gaze when a friend greeted her from in front of the school. This was when he jumped into the woods, rustling the leaves slightly as he fully transformed into a beast and ran away.

But he would not be gone long, for he would be back for the girl. The girl he had discovered as if finding gold beneath a sheet of ice. She was his new found discovery, and he could not help but to come back and take her as his own.
