I didn't understand! My mind swam in confusion,
Was all this, a result of my seclusion?
Please don't go! I plead as she began to fade,
She shook her head regretfully, but she stayed.
You see me everyday! Yet you ask!
Is remembering me such a great task?
She procured a beautiful antique mirror,
& thrust it infront of me,nearer n nearer.
& then it struck,dawned upon me,
she was Me!unmasked,but how could it be?
Said she: I am your soul,pure & true!
why do you be, someone not you!
Why wear masks? when the inside matters,
why fake facades? why wound yourself with daggers?
why do you hide yourself from you?
why not reveal the beautiful, ever true inner you?
She sighed:You lost yourself on the way,
bits & pieces, fragments you lay,
in you I am restrained,in you I am chained,
Now I yearn to be free, no longer pained.
Tears of betrayal pooled her eyes,
but stopped there,in silent cries
& I realised ,I tortured my soul,
I had comitted a crime so foul!
At that moment,I vowed to never be,
someone alien, someone not me!
She gave me a knowing smile & with that she departed,
energy poured into me, I awoke with a life restarted!
