Peace of mind was a blessing for a goddess. Hell even for a regular mortal woman. Yes, this was it here in a beach house next to the white sands and near the mountains. Change. She loved it, the wind in her hair, the grit of sand between her toes, and the heat on her skin.
Excitement brought a shiver up her spine. Her life her freedom was her own and belonged to no one else. Yes, she was on her way to mortality but it had been worth the wait.
Her dog Maxim barked in the distance. She looked up to see another woman walking towards her with the happy dog. She wasn't exactly tall but she was blond and simple. Not pretty and not ugly but simple.
She came closer with a smile on her face she was about thirty five slender and petite."Hi I'm Rose your neighbor." Rose shook my hand and sat down in the sand next to me.
"Hi Rose my name is Vera." Yes, Vera will make a nice name for now.
"Well Vera would you like to come over to my house me and a group of friends are having a divorce celebration for a friend."
"A celebration?"
"Yeah I know it's not ideal to celebrate such an end to a beautiful thing like marriage but my friend was absolutely miserable."
She thought about it in the ancient world divorce was nonexistent. Death do you part was a thing back in the day. But today life was celebrated and divorce was to if it meant the beginning of a new life. It's about time to see how these human woman handle divorce.
"Yes I would love to come."
"Great the party starts at 8:00 we drink early so you can bring anything you like."
"See you at eight."
Satisfaction graced her lips as the woman walked away. This was her chance to assimilate herself into human society and make friends with the woman folk. Let's hope it doesn't slip through the cracks.
