Chapter Five- A Day to Remember

When I got to Dance class. There was one boy standing off in the corner by himself. I didn’t see anyone else I know, so I decide to be nice and go talk to him. “Hi, I’m Kaylin.”. He didn’t say anything and just turned away. “Kaylin, over here.” I heard someone call to me. I looked around and saw someone waving at me. I walk over to her. “Hi, I’m Caroline. Why were you over talking to ‘Mr. Mute’ over there?” she asked. “Well he looked all alone and I figured I should be nice and talk to him. What’s his name anyway?” I asked “JoJo” she replied. “Oh well, is he really...” “Alright class, time to start find a spot in the floor so we can begin.” the teacher said. We go through basic dance moves,eight steps etc.,etc. When we finish, Caroline asks me, “What class do you have next Kaylin?” “I have Swim Team next” I say looking at my schedule. “Oooo, like you ‘boyfriend’ Niall." “He’s not my boyfriend” I say. “Not officially,” I muttered under my breath. “What?” Caroline asks. “Nothing,” I reply “Got to get to Swim Team,” I say. When I get to the pool, I see Niall. And, so excited to see a familiar person, run and give him a big hug. “Hi, Nice to see you too” he says. I blush feeling embarrassed. “I’m sorry! It’s just last class there was no one familiar to me.” I try to explain to him, but he shut me off with a huge hug. “I understand,” he whispers in my ear. When we start class, we start off with some easy strokes like the backstroke, the freestyle, and the butterfly, which I’m good at. At the end of class, once we changed, I found Niall and we walked to Band together, there we meet Lilly. Niall plays the guitar. I try out for the guitar, saxophone, trombone, and clarinet. “You are good on the guitar, saxophone, and the trombone. Not so much the clarinet. I think guitar is your best.” The band teacher says. So I end up playing the guitar. I saw JoJo in the saxophone section. I didn’t know he played an instrument. Lilly decided to play the flute. When we were done with Band, it was lunch time. “Ok, I told the girls I would meet them at my dorm.” I tell Niall. “Ok I’ll walk up with you.” he says. On the way up he grabs my hand and entwines his fingers in mine. When we get up to the dorm, Kaila, and Ash are waiting for us with Harry,Liam,Louis,and Zayn. “Alright, ready to go?” Niall asks. “Sure” Me and Kaila get our food first. When we sit down at the table the boys said to go to, she automatically goes into the questioning. “So, are you two a couple yet? I saw you two holding hands” “No we’re not an ‘official’ couple, and we were just holding hands thats all.” I say, my face getting red. when Niall and the others come back, I have a few questions myself. “Niall, do you remember when I said Caroline told me not to talk to JoJo?” he nodded. “Well she also said he was mute, is that true?” Niall swallowed his food and looked at me. “Well, yeah kinda. He doesn’t talk to anyone, but sometimes we hear him muttering to himself when we walk past his room.” He said. I looked around at the boys to see if this was true, and sadly they were all nodding their heads looking at their food. “Ok, well what should we do for Me Hour?” Liam said trying to break the tension. “What’s Me Hour?” Ashlynn asked. “Me Hour is a hour where we get to do whatever we want.” Louis explained. “When’s Me hour?” Kaila asked. “Now,” Niall said. “Oh well, maybe we could...” I started saying. “Wait, can I talk to the boys alone for a minute?” Niall asked. “Sure.” I said. The boys all got up to throw their food away. “What do you think that’s about?” I asked. “Niall probably wants to ask you out.” Kaila said. “Or Louis wants to ask YOU out.” I fire back. Kaila just gets red. “He already did.” she mutters under her breath. “WHAT?!” I yell at her. “Hey guys, different plans.” Louis says as he slides into his seat next to Kaila. “We are going to be doing whatever with the girls.” Niall said. “Louis you’re with Kaila, Liam, you’re with Ashlynn, Zayn and Harry you’re with Lilly, and I’ll take Kaylin.” Kaila looked at me and I gave her a ‘Shut-up’ look. Niall takes me to his room. he sits me on the bed and says “I have a surprise for you” Niall goes out to the hallway When he comes back he has something behind his back. “Here you go,” he says while pulling out a bunch of flowers. “Awww Niall!” I say. “Kaylin will you go out with me?” Niall asks, kind-of shyly. “YES, YES, A MILLION TIMES YES!!!!” I yell at him. He picks me up and spins me around. until I am laughing hysterically. “I love you,” he whispers in my ear when he puts me down. “I love you too.” I say back.  The bell for Me Hour rings, and my shoulders slump. “I’ll see you after 9th hour baby.” Niall says. He quickly kisses me before leaving to go to next hour. During the next two hours I was not paying any attention. I have Theatre with Kaila and Niall. We are performing Romeo and Juliet. We audition and I get the part of Juliet. I was really hoping Niall would get the part of Romeo, but when I hear who Romeo is my jaw drops. “JoJo?” I ask Niall. “Yeah JoJo.” Niall says sadly. “How’s he gonna me Romeo if he doesn’t talk?” I ask Niall. “I don’t know.”
