Field Trip

chapter 1 the plan

"You're crazy", said Vanessa, "Can you imagine if we get caught?!"

Emily looked embarrassed. "Shut up! Why are you so loud?" Emily and her friends Vanessa, Isabella, and Sarah were on a bus taking a class field trip to Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida.

"All we have to do is sneak away from the group and then we no longer have to listen to Ms. Naheks' bickering anymore."She and her friends were discussing a plan to somehow sneak away from their class because Ms. Naheks, their school vice-principle, was chaperoning their group.

"She'll never notice!" Emily said. "Oh, just imagine running through the park without getting yelled at! Wouldn't that be amazing?"

"Yeah, I guess so." Vanessa agreed.

Emily was known for her ideas. Some of them aren't so smart, but she has them.

The girls in front of them, Clarrie and Bebe, were eavesdropping on their conversation. Clarrie turned around.

"Wow, you guys are actually gonna pull this off?" Vanessa, trying to look all bad and stuff, faced her. "Heck yeah! What, did you think we were going to hang around with Ms. Naheks all day?"

Clarrie, stunned at the idea of Vanessa, the goody-goody, was breaking some rules. "Well, can we join you guys?"she asked. "Sure." Emily told her.

All of a sudden, Emily and Vanessa see a little puff of white smoke come from the seat in front of them, next to Clarrie.

"Bebe!!! I told you to stop that!!", yelled Clarrie, facing her friend. "What? A little won't hurt", answered Bebe. "A little of what won' t hurt?", asked Emily.

"A little of Smarties." Said Bebe. "Wait a second, you SMOKE Smarties?" Asked Vanessa, looking a bit worried.

"Don't worry, I've been doing it since I was in third grade.", said Bebe. "Haha, I wouldn't be surprised" said Emily. She turned around and faced the people sitting behind her, which were her other friends, Sarah and Isabella.

"Does Vanessa like the idea?" asked Isabella."Of course!" Emily said, filling up with pride, "everyone loves my ideas""And I heard that Clarrie and Bebe were joining as well" said Sarah.

"Well," Emily continued, "you heard correctly." Sarah turned to Isabella. "This isgonna be one heck of a trip!" she said. "Oh yes. Yes it is." she answered.

A couple of hours went by. While looking at the beautiful scenery passing by, Emily thought about the plan she and her friends were about to attempt.

The plan was once they were off the bus and settling into groups, two of them (which was going to be Emily and Sarah) would suddenly run off. Then, as Mrs. Naheks would starts looking for them, the other two (Isabella and Vanessa) would run off as well.

"If all goes well," she said, "we could haves such a fun time. But if we get caught..."

There was no need for her to finish. Both she and Vanessa knew the consequences.

"Out of all the people in our class, WE are the ones to be stuck With Mrs. Naheks. That's so unfair!" she complained. Vanessa turned and looked at her. "Life is unfair," she said, "but don't worry. We won't be stuck with her long."

That reassured Emily. "Remember, we only get in trouble IF we get caught." They both smiled. Emily turned away.

She plugged in her earphones to her phone, turned up the volume to Chris Brown's 'Fine China'. Once again, she stared out the window and started to go into deep thought. And before she knew it, she fell asleep.
