Emily woke up to to someone poking her on the cheek. She saw that it was Vanessa.
"What do you want?!?" she angrily asked. "I was in the middle of a lovely dream when you just start poking me."
"Rise and shine, sleeping beauty!! It's time!" her friend answered.
Oh no, the moment they've all been stressing this whole trip, settling into groups. Instantly, Emily's hands started to become a little bit sweaty.
"It's now or never!" Vanessa whispered in her ear.
She turned around and met eyes with Isabella, who mouthed the word, "ready?", and Emily replied with "yes".
"All right! Everyone listen up!", screamed Mrs. Naheks, "If I catch ANY STUDENT, who is leaving without my permission, using their phones, or stealing something, God so help them, because that student will automatically become an EXPELLED student! Does everyone understand!?!"
"Yes, Mrs. Naheks" they all answered. Mrs. Naheks noticed someone walking by and suddenly smiled, not taking her eye off the stranger. As soon as the stranger was out of sight, that smile turned back to its normal position, a straight, wrinkled line.
Emily looked into her eyes. They were blue, but they were not a pretty blue, more like ice-cold blue. (Just to match her ice-cold personality, Emily thought.)
She had short, crinkly, blonde hair with grey strands everywhere. She hated everyone, and everyone hated her. Back on school grounds, she would always walk around with a full pile of detention slips in her purse. (Emily found this out the hard way.) She would even scream at the little first graders!
But, of course, when Open House is going on she suddenly becomes the most delightful person in the world. So now you could see why Emily and her friends were so eager to get away from her.
Once in a straight line, everyone started marching over to the front gates. Then, they were instructed to "be good boys and girls" and wait patiently for Mrs. Naheks to return with the tickets.
Yeah, like if that was going to happen.
And that's when Emily noticed a problem;their shirts. They were wearing special shirts designed for them that was bright yellow in color and had their middle school logo on the back.
"Oh crap, this is just what we needed" she said, "we are dressed in practically neon yellow uniforms. How could she not see us from afar?"
"Yeah, she's got a point" added Isabella, "we look like walking glow sticks"
Then Sarah started to take her shirt off. "Woah dude, not here!" Vanessa yelled. "Don't worry! I'm wearing an undershirt underneath." said Sarah.
"Good idea! Oh wait, I have an extra shirt in my bag!" exclaimed Emily, searching her red Kipling bag. "Why, exactly?" asked Vanessa. "Because, just in case I get soaked on Splash Mountain" Emily answered, "come with me so I could change." She then grabbed Vanessa's hand and off they went.
20 minutes later, Emily came back with Vanessa.
"What took you so long?" Isabella angrily asked, "Mrs. Naheks is going to be here any minute!"added Sarah.
"Sorry," Emily answered, "but do you know how long the line is inside of Disney World at 11:00 in the morning!?!"
And just at that moment, Mrs. Naheks returned with the tickets scrunched in her hand. "Everyone ready?"she said. Everyone nodded. "Alright then, lets go!"
They started walking through the bag check and jumped a little bit when the overhead Monorail (a train-like vehicle that runs on a magnetic track) zoomed by. "Holy cow that thing is fast!"exclaimed Vanessa.
