Percy fling open the door to cabin 1. Jason was sprawled across the floor, Annabeth, quite literally, on top of him. Percy's heart felt like ice his chest. He pried Annabeth off of Jason with effort. Jason breathed heavily. Annabeth scurried away. Percy turned to Nico and nodded. Nico ran after her. Percy and Jason were alone.
He helped Jason off the floor. They stood in silence for a bit. Percy turned to leave, but Jason called out.
"Could-could you stay? Just for a while?" Percy lowered his head and turned around, nodding slightly. That's when Jason realized Percy was crying. A big tear splattered on the floor. Jason ran up and embraced Percy in a tight hug. Percy's shoulders shoots he let out racking sons.
The dark part of Jason (which was very little) was kind of glad Annabeth had did that because now he could hold Percy.
The tears slowed and Percy asked to sleep in the top bunk in the Zeus cabin. As he climbed to get up, Jason caught a glance at Percy's lower back. He tried to get the image out of his head but it was too hard, too... Satisfying.
He couldn't sleep. He tossed and turned but sleep never came. Jason thought about the day. Annabeth liked him... A lot. Percy was heartbroken and what was Jason doing? What about Piper? And he couldn't help but wonder... Nico and Percy came together. Had he told Percy Jason's true feelings towards him?
Percy's light snores were heard from above and his hand dropped off the side of the bed. Jason smiled. He wanted to take that hand and hold it like a lifeline, never letting go. He resisted the urge and turned around in the bed.
Sleep must have finally gave in to him because when Jason woke up, it was bright inside the cabin. He knew Percy was awake. He could feel it. Jason rubbed his eyes and ran a hand through his hair. He sighed and climbed out of bed. When he saw Percy laying on his back, tears flowing freely down the sides of his cheeks, Jason's heart ached.
"Hey, man," he said softly.
