The Day I was Born

The day I was born

People filled the halls

Waiting to see if I was a boy or a girl

My mother was in pain

And my father was nervous

Wanting to see if I would come out just perfect

The time had come for me to leave

My mother's safe whom

And enter the cruel world

People would judge me

People would hate

The little girl I would turn out to be

They named me Coraline

For no particular reason

My mother was cursed

And she passed it down to me

They killed her

They said she was a witch

For how could she give birth to such a wretch

I was Coraline the girl with one eye

The kids were to scared to laugh at me

They thought they would die

They thought I would kill them with my one eye

My hair was gold

My waist was small

My voice was like honey

And my skin was sweet like lavender

I was lovely

Up until my eye

One side was the prettiest girl in the world

And the other was a routing girl

A hole in my head the size of coal

After my mother's death my father went soon after

He didn't want to be stuck in a world with his forsaken daughter

When I turned 5

They knew it was time

To put me back in hell where I belonged

So they burned me at the stake

Like they did my mother

And they sent me back to my unholy father

But I still return to the world of the living

On that horrible day

The day I was born
