Ariel's POV
After a quick ride home, one that seemed quicker than usual, I pulled into the driveway of Lydia and I's flat. I parked my blue accord and ran to the door. I quick slipped my key into the door and went looking for Lydia.
"Lydiaaaaaaaaaaa" I drew out the a at the end of her name.
"Lydia I have important news to tell you!" I yelled through the house
I went into the kitchen to find a note of on the fridge. Of course she leaves it on the fridge. She knows me too well, it's the first place I go when I come home from work.
The note said:
'Hiiii Ariel! I know I could have just texted you but leaving a note felt like more fun today!
Anyways, I went out for a little while. Just for a walk, maybe pick up a few things along the way. Not sure yet! Anyways call me when you read this! Xoxo
~Lyd'
Oh well okay she just went out. She'll be home soon enough but I'm going to call her just like she said to! This news is too important to wait to tell!
I quickly dialed up Lydia and after one quick ring she picked up.

Lydia's POV
I was just walking around uptown, thinking, when I got a call from Ariel. She must have got my note!
"Hello?" I said while putting my phone to my ear.
"Hey Lydia! I have such important news to tell you! Like oh my gosh I'm so happy about this!" Ariel's perfect voice rang through the phone.
"Okay okay well don't wait just tell me already!!" I excitedly said back through the phone.
"I got a promotion! I'm going to be a reporter!!! No more stupid desk work for me!" She stated through the phone with a grin plastered on her face that I could practically hear through the phone.
"That's so great! Oh my gosh I'm so happy for you!" I said happily.
"Thanks so much! Ya know I'm so happy I finally get to do what I've wanted to do for such a long time! Being a reporter has been a career goal I've wanted pursue since grade school! ..." She went on and on about how this was a big stepping stone in her career and all that good stuff that you get to be excited about when have a job and life that's really great. Like hers.
"Don't you agree Lyd?" She questioned.
Her question tool me out of my thoughts and back to reality.
"Uh huh. Yes. It's totally great congrats Ariel. Listen ill be home soon just got to go do something. Talk to you then?"
"Okay sure sounds great!" Her voice rang through the phone.
"Okay see ya then, byeee" I drew out the e at the end.
"Ba bye" was the last thing she said before I hung up.

So Ariel got a promotion and has a job. What do I have? I for have a boyfriend a job, my life is kind of a mess. I'm happy for Ariel but one of these times I wish it was me with the exciting good news and not her for once.
As I was fully enveloped with my thoughts I wasn't watching where I was going. I discovered this by bumping into someone.
"Oops ooo I'm sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going!" I said apologetically.
"Don't worry about it! I'm fine and from the looks of it you look fine as well?" The tall male, with a Ralph Lauren hoodie and sunglasses said with a laugh. He was covered by the hoodie and glasses so I really couldn't get a good look at him.
" I am indeed fine. Ahaha." I said to the fellow in front of me.
"Well I guess I'll be on my way then." He said with a huff.
"Okay sorry again!" I said as he began to walk away.
He just waved and went on his way.
Huh that was a bit unusual.
