When Hermione woke up, she got ready and walked down to the great hall. She tried to focus on school and what homework she should finish, but thoughts of Draco kept weaving their way into her thoughts like a snake (ironic, I know).
'Potions essay- check
Transfigure a blanket into a sweater- check
Find out what Draco is up t- no stop'Hermione sighed in frustration. Why couldn't she get him out of her head! She sat down next to her friends hoping they would get the blonde ferret off of her mind.
"Hey Hermio-, are you okay?" Asked Neville who was looking at her concerned, "you look like you ate part of a puffapod seed."
"What?... Oh yes, I'm fine." Replied Hermione. But in fact she was now staring at the Slytherin Prince who was still sulking, never looking like he had been laughing the night before. 'Maybe it wasn't him' she thought, but no, it was defiantly him, she knew his voice...
Ginny turned to look where Hermione was staring and she whipped her head back around to look at her friend. "Are you staring at Malfoy?" Ginny asked, louder than Hermione would have liked, as many students turned their heads to look, including the boy in question. She didn't notice his slight smirk as she turned to quiet her red headed friend down.
"Ginny shush!" Hermione whispered to her friend, who was now looking at her curiously, "don't let the whole school know."
"So you are!" Ginny whispered excitedly, "why? Did something happen?" She gasped, "Do you like him?!"
"Hell no!" Hermione said looking at her friend with a surprised expression, "why would I like him?"
Ginny was now smirking, "well, you ARE sharing common rooms, and you ARE staring at him, and you HAVE been acting weird ever since you found out he was head boy."
"I don't like him! I promise, now, I'm not talking about this anymore. I have to finish an ancient runes essay." And with that, Hermione stood up and walked out of the Great hall, not noticing Malfoy, who was now trying not to laugh, his face turned towards his food so she wouldn't see.
Hermione was angry, at Ginny, for announcing to the school that she was staring at Malfoy, and Draco, for not getting out of her head. She knew it wasn't his fault, well, it was a bit, for confusing her. But, she decided, she shouldn't blame it on him. She thought about what Ginny asked 'do you like him?!'. No, she decided, she did not have a crush on Draco Malfoy. He probably had no idea what he was doing to her.
How wrong she was.
