When we came out of Starbucks, I forgot all about the note. We started going in and out of stores and I stole something for her. It was a blue sweatshirt that said New York City on it with all the cool things about New York City. Jessica was so mad when I told her I stole it, but she hugged me and wore it anyways because she loved it that much.

"Don't you ever do that again!" She scolded.

I laughed, "Okay, okay...Now do you like it or not?" I asked.

"I love it. Just promise me you'll never do it again." She tried to keep a straight face. I could tell she loved it the way she was smiling.

"I promise." I said.

We wandered into an alley which she claimed was a "shortcut" when we got the second note.

"Hey look!" Jessica said pointing to a piece of paper on the wall.

I walked over, took it off, and read it. "You threw the first note away. Don't do that again. There was a reason I sent it to you. Jessica- go home immediately, you have a package."

"There's a person following us." I said. "Go home immediately, you could be in trouble or something."

"No. I don't believe in this. What is the guarantee this is for me? It could be a coincidence." Jessica said, "I'm going home, Brittney's probably waiting for me."

"So, you're not going to pay attention to this? What if it really means something?" I asked.

Jessica pushed her ginger back in the wind. "Leo, don't tell me you really believe in this stuff. It's seriously not even real. You think that if I go home right now, there'll be a package waiting for me."

I waited ten seconds before answering, "I don't know." I whispered.

"I'm going home. Bye." Jessica walked out of the alley, hopped on her bike, not even uttering a word to me again.

My brain was going crazy. "Jessica, wait. I really don't think you should ignore these notes!" I called.

"Yeah? Well then maybe you're going crazy," she yelled back. She didn't even turn around.

I stared ahead at her auburn hair and her blue sweatshirt, as she kept riding to her home. I didn't know what to do now. Jessica was going to get into trouble, I was sure of it. Only because she hadn't listened to me. I felt so frustrated, and after ten minutes of staring at the note, I decided to go home.
