Time Walker

Prologue

My head hits the pillow, and the world begins to fade out until I’m surrounded in black. Then the first flash hits. I see flames, roaring angry flames that eat up everything crossing their path. I’m disorientated in the mass of bright colours and evil spirit, but gradually the picture becomes clear and I see my school - the view from the back. My eyes are drawn to a figure emerging from the fire, dragging a guy covered in ash and blood. I realise that this figure is me, the white streak in my raven black curls giving me away.

Abruptly, the picture changes to an old man, roughly 40 I’d guess, with tufts of mousy hair at either side of his pale face, just behind his ears. He’s in a study, with another younger looking guy whose red hair matches the flames I was recently engulfed in. They appear to be going through a list, a list that must be very long as they are surrounded by papers of a similar format. The vision zooms into the paper just as baldy crosses out the name - The name of my city. I only have time to gasp in confusion before I’m pulled to another place, this time a green meeting hall, a very green meeting hall. The walls are painted in jade green, only slightly darker than the spring coloured carpets. Baldy is their again, standing at the podium pacing, a giant Green Circle logo, adorning the wall behind him.

“We must eradicate them!” He shouts,

“All of them. For the sake of our planet,” He yells at the rows of empty seats, obviously practising for a speech. He doesn’t seem nervous. He seems crazy, his pupils dilating at the word eradicate, golden eyes glowing with madness until I’m transported to flames again. Through the fire I see a clock, the second hand inching to 12:30, at which point there is a huge explosion that appears to blast out from the walls. I try to hold on, for the sake of finding out more to help, but it slips through my fingers, drifts away, leaving me sat up on my bed, shaking with a cold sweat.
