Miss Hellpey was the head of the house. And the head of everything. For every 15 kids there is a head of house. The head of house makes sure that you go to your classes, you stay in line and stay out of trouble. Miss Hellpey was an outstanding head of house.
I wish that this could all be over.
Jack asked me, "Do you and Amy want to come with me and break out of here?" We both told him no. We did not want to break out the WRONG way. The three of us had always planned to break out and go under the radar.
Amy, Lily and I share a room. Basically our room is four walls and three beds, the little twin beds. A book. A book called The Fault in Our Stars. It is Lily's book she bought it with her money. Every month the Academy gives each of us $20 for being a good child. For every toe that you step out of line you lose $4. If by the end of the month you have $0 or any negative money you have to do community service. The room also is a grey and has a black rug. And the clothing that we get is like an army green. The shirt is black and army green pants. It looks okay but every day wearing. Just no.
The Academy is really strict no-one is allowed outside of their rooms after 9 pm. You have to be up and ready for 6 am. Classes start at 6:15 am. Lunch is at noon and bedtime is 10 pm. If you are caught outside of your room after 9 pm you lose money and you have to clean up after every meal for a week.
