I waved goodbye to Leo, who looked a bit sad that training was over. To be honest, though I wouldnt let myself admit it, I was too. Yet I had Greek with the girl Annabeth, (which I was a bit scared of) And I had a feeling she wasn't fond of people who wasted her time, so I didn't want to be late.
I found her in her cabin, still reading that book the black haired boy had gotten icing on. The only thing that surprised me was how far she had gotten. I mean, Mella and I read pretty fast to, but this was insane. Yesterday she was about 4 chapters in, and now the little bookworm was 50 pages from the end. And guys, this was no Junie B. Jones, either. It was almost twice the size of The Order Of The Phoenix, which I couldn't quite wrap my head around.

Sorry, getting off track. Shouldn't have eaten the candy before I started writing.

Anyway, I knocked softly on the door, even though Annabeth was the only one there. (The rest of her cabin had arts and crafts at this time, but Chiron let Annabeth of the hook to teach Mella and I.)

Wait, where was Mella? We had the same class, so she should be here by now. We agreed on meeting at around 2-ish, and it was 2:10.
Well, apparently I was late.

Annabeth glanced up from her book, (which surprised me) and smiled.
"Hey, you must be one of my new students." She seemed nice enough, but I saw pain behind those grey eyes.
Jeez, I sound like a Kelly Clarkson song.
MOVING ON.

I smiled nervously. "Uh yeah...sorry Im late..." (Around people I knew, I was insane. Around people I don't know...I'm more shy than piglet.)
"Meh, don't worry about it. You're new, so I wont chuck you off the top of the lava wall." A mischevious glint in her eye made me wonder if she was just teasing.
I took a deep breath, shoved down the fear of new people, and stuck my hand out. "I'm Vivian." It seemed like a good of a response as any.

Annabeth shook it without hesitation. Her firm grip made me wince. "Annabeth. Daughter of Athena." She cocked her head like, And you are...?
I shook my head as if to say, Unclaimed...
She nodded understandingly, giving a reasuring smile.
"You'll be claimed soon." I sighed, unconvinced.
I was pondering what to say next, but just then Mella walked in, looking a bit ticked off.
"Hey..." She shook off the scowl and replaced it with a halfhearted smile.
Wait...
Grass in her hair, a bruise on her arm, looking ticked off...
"Mells...You got in a fight, didn't you?" I groaned, hoping, praying I was wrong.
She snuffed, confirming my suspicions.
"It was that stupid Will guy...He tackled me, and I defended myself. End of story" She glanced at me like, I'll explain later, not now. Not in front of Annabeth.

Things like this, sadly, happen to us a lot.
