Suzuki POV:
The next day of class I got there earlier than everyone else. Even Odom Sensei wasn't in class yet, I looked over to on of the tables and saw him; Chase was laying on his arm, asleep.
"Wow he got here early", I thought. I went and placed my bag next to him and he jumped. He looked up at me and looked back down. "Uh sorry I didn't mean to..."
Then everyone came into the class as soon as the bell rang. Odom Sensei came in from her resting room.
"Okay guys take your seats, we are going to go over what you all are going to do for your project."
I took a seat next to Chase, he let out a small sigh. I glanced over at him and let out my own sigh.
"Starting today you and your partner will spend as much time together as you can, you'll be doing a portrait of each other." Sensei announced.
"Can it be a nude portrait!?" A guy named Jade asked smiling at this girl he was partners with.
"No it can't." Sensei threw an eraser at him. "I want to be able to see the personality of each of you in the picture so make sure you get to know each other well."
I looked down at Chase he was sketching a picture of a woman. She was... Beautiful, her smile was so warm just by looking at the picture you could tell she was a kind woman. I wondered if he knew her or if he was just sketching to sketch; the picture looked so real.
"That's really amazing, you're incredibly talented." Chase jumped when I spoke and closed his art book. "Ah, wh-what is wrong?" He didn't look at me he just stared at his book then to the front. The room became quite for awhile, I didn't notice Odom Sensei leave the room to go do something; rules are when she leaves the room stay quiet so we don't attract attention from the administrators.
The room was so quiet I couldn't even hear Chase breathing next to me. I let out a breath and began to sketch, he wasn't looking at me so i wanted to get in some practice on drawing him, but.... I couldn't, he just seemed, it looked as though he was feeling unpleasant.

The day went on as any other, Suzuki was on his free period and knew Odom Sensei had her free class period. Letting out a strong sigh he went to hang out in her class.
"Odom Sensei, you in here?"
"Oh hey Suzuki-kun, what's up?" Odom Sensei was talking with the other art teacher Remi Sensei. A light skinned woman, she had brown hair to her shoulders and would wear a key chain with a group of Korean singers.
"I wanted to ask you a question... It's about Chase."
"Oh I know that boy, hes a real sweet heart, he comes by and I teach him a little about photography."
"Oh, I was wondering why he had a camera. But what's wrong?" Odom Sensei returned her attention to her student.
"I don't think he likes me, so would you partner him with someone else?"
"What makes you think that!" Odom and Remi placed their hands on their hips.
"W-well I don't want him to feel uncomfortable, cause he's always sighing when hes near me, and he glances at me then when I look back at him he will quickly look away."
"I see, so you think he doesn't like you?", Odom Sensei asked sitting back in her chair.
"That's right."
"You're wrong he likes you hes just shy."
Suzuki thought about it for a second, then let out a sigh. He looked over to Odom Sensei; smiling she shooed him away.
"If you say so. See you tomorrow."
Suzuki left the classroom and let out another sigh, he had started to wonder why Chase never spoke around him. Suzuki was ready to head to the library when he ran into someone, the person had red faded hair.
"Oh its Chase." He thought. "Sorry Chase I didn't mean to run into you my mind was uh...Somewhere else." Suzuki noticed Chase's face was red and eyes puffy. "He was crying, his face its red, did...did someone hit him?" Sutaki thought.
"Chase you okay, why is your face red?" Chase jumped and looked in the direction of a group of guys laughing their asses off. Suzuki noticed and took in a deep breath and stood up.
"Chase, did those guys hit you?" Chase looked up to Suzuki, he saw his eyes were blazing in anger. Suzuki's hands were in fists, and his presence was scary.
Suzuki took a step forward, eyes locked on those guys from before. He knew who they all were but the main one who would do something like this was Jason. Chase wanted to stop Suzuki but chose to just stay quiet. He didn't want there to be any trouble, but he knew if he tried to stop Suzuki he would get yelled at.
"Jason!" Suzuki's voice interrupted Chase's thoughts. "You why are you messing with Chase!?"
"Aww I was only teasing him, what heh you don't like your boyfriend talking to other guys." Jason gave a wink to Chase, then Suzuki punched him.
"You bastard quit talking nonsense and apologize!" Suzuki was fearlessly grabbing Jason by his shirt ready to hit him again when someone grabbed his arm. It was Chase.
Jason slugged Suzuki, dusted himself off and spit out the blood from his mouth. "Meet me after school you little bastard." With that he left.
Suzuki was even more pissed than before and wanted to hit the closest thing near him. Standing up he turned around and punched the wall.
"FUCK!" Suzuki as sweet a person he is has the worst temper when he's mad. Chase was frozen he shut his eyes, trembling he waited to hear Suzuki yell at him for stopping him from beating the crap out of Jason.
"Hahh...Hahh...1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10" Suzuki turned around to Chase wanting to complain like there was no tomorrow, but when he turned around he saw Chase trembling and head low. He let out a sigh and put his hand out to Chase.
Chase opened his eyes and looked at Suzuki's hand.
"Heh, i'm Suzuki sorry I scared you nice to meet you." Suzuki smiled. Slowly Chase reached down to take his hand, when he did Suzuki's grip was strong.
"Chase I want you to know this now...If, if you ever feel worried or someone is messing with you please let me know." His grip became really strong it made Chase whine.
"Sorry, uh....mm...Ah w-why don't we give each other our numbers!" Suzuki quickly tried to change the subject. Chase paused for a moment then nodded, Suzuki smiled. The bell rang for them to go to class, and only Chase got Suzuki's number.
"Sigh, that guy, he's so....."

Ugh, such a long chapter, but at least Chase is coming out a bit. Plus you all got to see Suzuki get mad and nearly beat up Jason and my amazing friend for playing Remi Sensei I love you! :3 Read on next chapter Chase's father enters the picture.
