"C'mon! He's like perfect for you!"
My friend Shelby exclaimed. Here she was, trying to set me up with yet another guy. I've always had troubles when it comes to relationships and for whatever reason that inspired Shelby to become my own personal Cupid. Except for the fact that I wasn't exactly wanting her help.
"Shelby I appreciate your effort. I really do. And I know you're only doing this because you care about me, but be realistic, Carter and I barely talk, and from the times we have spoken, I know he as COMPLETELY different interest than me. Not to mention, he has a girlfriend."
"But I was sure he didn't have one..."
"Well think again." I stated, pointing to the end of the hall where he was kissing some girl.
"Well...um...ok..that was my bad, but the next one will be better! Although you'd have a boyfriend right now if you just listened to me about the previous ones! She went off, steam seemingly pouring out of her nose.
"Okay well can I just be me? Find a guy on my own instead of you setting me up with guys I've never even met? Besides I don't need a boyfriend right now. I've got my friends and since I'm not focusing on relationships, my career is starting out pretty good."
"Fine but don't come to me the next time you need help with a boy."
I chuckled, "Alright. Besides, what if I wanted a girlfriend?
She smirked. "Too bad most girls here don't swing that way or haven't come out yet."
"Okay ms. Know it all."
"I don't know it all...I just know most things" She said playfully, her tongue sticking out as she smacked my shoulder and we pranced down the hall, out the door and off to my house.
Today was Shelby's birthday and she had no idea what awaited her when we got to my house.
I hope she will like it....
