Hello my little shibshibs (شبشب) and THANK YOU ALL SO SO MUCH FOR 499 READS! I NEVER THOUGHT THAT MANY PEOPLE WOULD READ THIS BOOK! I am calling you shibshibs now because I don't really like the name Sherlockians anymore. For those of you who don't know me personally, English is my first language, and I am learning Arabic, Latin, and Spanish. Shibshib means slippers in Arabic. I am so terribly sorry for not updating sooner, I have been really busy with sports, school, and extracurricular activity stuff. On with the story!
The Doctor lead Sherlock and John out of 221B. They walked briskly in the darkness and coldness of the night. Clara and Mrs. Hudson could barely make out the outlines of the three as they followed. The Doctor lead them down so many sharp turn and twists into alleys and sidestreets, so not even Sherlock could follow where they were. Finally, and when everybody was out of breath, they stopped in front of the TARDIS. The Doctor started fumbling around in his pockets for the key. After five minutes, Clara gave him her key, and he quickly opened the door.
"Oh my! It's bigger on the inside! How's that even possible?" Mrs. Hudson cried.
"Well Mrs. Hudson -- " The Doctor started.
"-- it is another dimension, the fourth dimension in fact, that lets it be bigger in the inside, and smaller on the outside," Sherlock finished.
"It's Time Lord science Mrs. Hudson. I've learned not to question many things when I'm with him, and just accept it," Clara said.
"Well done Mr. Holmes! You are one of my first companions to know what the TARDIS is!" The Doctor replied happily as if he were going to give Sherlock an award for knowing it is another dimension.
Sherlock looked at The Doctor like he was a madman (with a box😋). Suddenly, a cold gust of wind blew, making it ten degrees colder in the alley.
"Well I don't know about you, but I'm going inside," John said.
"That's a good idea," they all muttered.
They all stepped into the TARDIS, and Clara shut the door behind them.
"Doctor, where are we going?" Clara asked.
"We are going to meet Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!" The Doctor yelled from across the console room.
"Now this could either bypass the TARDIS basically creating a rip and many tidal waves in time, or it will zap us the conquistador era. I really hope it doesn't do that," The Doctor said to no one in particular.
Sherlock started to wander around the console room, muttering inaudible deductions. John looked totally fine with the idea. Mrs. Hudson found a chair somewhere in the room and was just sitting down looking around.
"Everyone gather around! I'm going to try to zap us to 1884 when Sir Arthur wrote about you guys," The Doctor yelled into a bullhorn.
When everybody was circled around the console, The Doctor twisted a dial, pulled on an engine started from a boat, typed something on the monitor, then pulled a lever down.
"We're here everybody! Good old 1884!" The Doctor said.
He ran to the doors, and opened them.
What they saw outside wasn't 1884, but rather a desert with a sign saying 'New Spain/Mexico --->'. There was a winding trail in the direction the sign was pointing to covered in wagon, animal, and human tracks.
"Oh dear! My wiring went wrong! We are in the conquistador era, probably right before Cortés conquered the Aztecs!" The Doctor said dejected.
"Well then The Doctor, Clara, and John should go outside and do whatever with Cortés, and Mrs. Hudson and I will stay here and fix the wiring," Sherlock stated.
They split up into their respective groups, and got to work. As Clara shut the door, a wagon appeared down the trail heading towards them.
"Excuse me sir!" The Doctor yelled at the wagon driver. The driver heard him, and stopped.
"Would you please carry us in your wagon. We need go get to Mexico," The Doctor said.
To John's surprise, the driver seemed to understand him!
"How can he understand The Doctor?" John whispered to Clara.
"Oh, the TARDIS has a translator, so you just speak English and the natives should understand you," Clara whispered back.
"Yeah sure I'll drive you all to Mexico, I'm going there, too. I'm Juan by the way."
The trio climbed into the back of the wagon, and they sat down next to bags of rice.
"I sure hope we can get to Mexico quickly," The Doctor said.Just so you guys know, I started writing this fanfic before Peter Capaldi was The Doctor, so Matt Smith is The Doctor in this story. Yay, and thank you again my little shibshibs for reading, commenting, and voting! I will try to update quicker, but this week is kinda crazy! I have ERB testing, Cross Country championships, and Halloween!
