Carissa like any normal Christian teen encountered very deep and challenging situations. She undergo ups, downs and swings in her teenage life, yet tried her best to maintain composure and to excel both Spiritually, Personally, Emotionally and Educationally. Despite the losses she faced in her life, they built her and made her stronger, even though it was not easy. She didn't know how to cope when she lost her brother Nathan to a group gang and also her grandmother who died from a terrible illness. However, in the end, she realised that God was in the midst of everything so she sought him more and she saw the result of a breakthrough in her life.
