*APRIL'S P.O.V*

The first time I met Marilyn, he was the new kid. But back then he called himself Brian.

*Flask Back*

"April, will you please go to the office. There is a new student coming to our class and he has the same schedule as you. We want you to show him the ropes." I glanced up from my book and nodded. "Yes ma'm." I sheepishly stood up and gathered my things. I wasn't the most beautiful girl or the skinniest girl for that matter. I was the slightly overwieght outcast. I hated be called on and hated having to stand up with everyone's eyes on me. I shuffled to the door and slipped out into the empty hallway. I shut the door behind me and started up the stair to the second floor where my locker was. Of course, being the klutz I am, I had to drop everything as soon as I saw an 8th grader walk by. Me being the 6th grade new comer did not get any assistance as I gathered my things. By the time I'd reached my locker 5 minutes had already whizzed by. I carefully opened my locker and stepped back just in time for a avalanche of folded pieces of paper to spill on the floor. I kicked them away, already knowing what they say.  I stuffed my belongings into the now empty locker and slammed it shut. I then ran down the stairs and speed walked to the office. When I opened the glass doors to the office, at boy caught my eye. He was adorable, yet he seemed to have an edge. Blonde hair and black nail polish. I noticed he was wearing leather gloves. He was also wearing a Nike shirt and normal jeans. What a combination. He waved me over and I gladly obeyed. "Your April?" His voice was deep yet very childish, as though he was trying to sound dark, but his real voice was high pitched and squeaky. "Yes I'm April. Are you Brian?" He nodded and replied, "Lead the way darling." Oh, charm. I walked him to his locker and and gave him the combo on a slip of notebook paper. At the same time he dug a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to me. I started to unfold it but he stopped me by saying, "No,no. Save that for class."  In 3rd hour I opened the paper. It was a phone number. Brain was sitting in front of me and I looked at the back of his head. He turned around as if he read my mind and winked. Oh, smooth.

That was the first time I felt that fire.
