I don't remember feeling or seeing anything durning the impact. No gut renching pain, no crimson color blinding my vision, like how you see actors reenacting really bad car accidents. All I felt was a minor pinch and all I saw was black. I would actually prefer the crimson red rather then the darkness and emptiness this black held. I wish I heard the sirens of the ambulances or the sound of the person who hit me asking if I was okay but, I heard nothing.
It felt like this darkness was holding me for years but in reality it was possibly only an hour. When I opened my eyes I saw dim lights and a hazy garden setting. Then two little hands came into my view indicating they would help me up (when was I laying down in the first place?). I grabbed them and they pulled me up to my feet and, I rubbed my eyes trying to get the clouded setting to go clear but it didn't no matter how hard I tried to make it evident. Someone or should I say a couple of someones cleared their throats infront of me. I looked and it took me a second to recognize the kids, who looked to be about seven years old, standing there. Then it hit me harder then the car, it was Eva and Joshua my twin sibilings that died at birth almost six years ago. I felt tears brimming my eyes and I stooped down to their level embracing them and never wanting to let them go.
I finally let them go and they looked at me bright eyed and smiling.
"Welcome to your afterlife!" they welcomed me in unison (kind of creepy).
"It can be an eternal happiness." Eva chimmed in.
"Or an eternal suffering." Joshua said in a low sadistic voice. The last part shocked me and I didn't really know how to respond.
"Let the trials begin!" They yelled behind them to a person unknown to me. Then the hazy peaceful garden scene disappeared only to be replaced by the darkness that once held me.
