Chapter 3

-Paralyzed-

I'm sitting at the table with my brother and his friends. Everyone at the tables around is talking so it's hard to hear anything Layla, Graham's girlfriend, is saying. Suddenly everyone around us stops talking, including Layla. She just stares at something behind me. I turn around to see what happened when I see him. He's walking towards me with Simon and Cole right behind him. I turn back around trying to act like I haven't seen him. I pick up a fry and stick it in my mouth.

'Hey puppy', I hear Alex say. I act like I didn't hear him, which is kind of impossible to do because everybody is silently watching us. I can feel him placing his hands on the back of my chair and he leans forward. My breath hitches in my throat, he's so close. 'I said: hey puppy', he says his lips brushing my ear. I swallow not knowing what to do. His voice was a lot more threatening than before.

'Alex, just leave her the fuck alone', I hear Sebastian saying. 'And why do you think I would listen to you', Alex says leaning back to a normal position. He sounds mocking. 'Just leave, she doesn't want you', Sebastian says. I can see him balling his fists, his nostrils flaring. 'I didn't notice that yesterday when she couldn't keep her eyes off of me', he says laughing. I can everyone around whispering. 'Who's that girl?'. 'She's the new kid, Alex seems to have taken a liking for her. Poor girl'. I want to tell them to shut up, but I'm still paralyzed.

I sit there numbly, the center of attention. I can hear people whispering my name or ''the new kid''. People don't seem to realize Sebastian is my twin brother. Nobody calls him the new kid, just me. Sebastian has always been the social, outgoing type. Me on the other, I'm an introvert. I don't deal well with big groups, or people in general. Sebastian was always there. I was never alone, Bash made sure of that.

I have turned around in my chair to see what's going on. I feel a hand on my arm and I spin back in my chair. When I see who it is I let my breath out. Simon just motions with his head to follow him. I give him a questioning look, not wanting to distract people from the verbal fight between Alex and Sebastian. He does it again and I shake me head no. He grabs my arm forcing me to go with him. I stand up and walk away, following Simon to god knows where.

He takes me to the library. 'What are we doing here?'I ask looking around. I haven't been in this part of the school yet. 'We're going to Cole's, you coming?' he asks grinning. 'We have like two periods left'. 'Uh I know puppy, live a little', he says excited. I sigh. I don't want to go, but if he'll never let me go if I say no. 'Will you accept no?' I ask already knowing the answer. 'Nope', he says sounding like a little kid. I stand there not knowing what to do with myself when I feel a presence behind me. I turn around standing face to face with Alex.

'You coming, puppy?' he asks. 'Uh let me think, no', I say really not wanting to miss out on school. He grabs my arms, his grip like a vice. He takes a step forward my nose almost touching his chest. 'Do you think I will accept no for an answer? Let me tell you, I don't. Nobody has ever said no to me, understood?'. He's so close to me that all I can do is stand there like some idiot.

His grip loosens and he slides his hands down my arms. 'C'mon puppy we are young, we have a whole life ahead of us. We're basically immortal', he says spreading his arms grinning. His blue eyes sparkle. I can feel myself smiling. 'Okay, I'm coming'. His arms wrap around me and he lifts me up. 'I knew you would change your mind, we're like young gods, like kings and queens'. Everything he said sounded so right even. I know I will regret this.
