"Shit," I whispered quietly hoping that he wouldn't hear me, but by the grin on his face I knew he had heard. This was no good.

How could I forget the name and looks of my Alphas son? The future Alpha of my pack? My best friend's brother? To my defense, I really didn't see him that often.

Despite that, he wasn't answering me! It's his own fault that I almost yelled at him! The fact that he's a prized member of the pack shouldn't give him the privilige to act uncivilized.

"We're not going to any specific place, I just wanted to ask-"

I didn't give him time to finish his sentence and cut him off instead, still as aggrevated as before, though trying to mask it. I didn't want to risk getting punished for behaving inapropriately towards him. "Why couldn't you just have said that in the first place?"

"Because I wanted to keep the it a secret, as well as my intention for this walk," he said, giving me a small smirk. A sign that he had more confidence now than just a minute ago. Back then he didn't know that I had forgotten his name, which was a huge relief to me. Now my ignorance is tugging at my sleeves.

"Can you tell me about that secret now, then?" I spoke back to him in the same fashion. I had calmed down now, but the anger was still bubbling beneath the surface.

"Hm... No," he said with a small shrug. How could anyone possible be this annoying?

Before I could reply to him he spoke again. "Well, it would be a waste of time not to tell you about it now, right?"

Suddenly it felt like he had jumped off his high horse. His cheeks flushed a warmer color as he picked up his words. "My sister is turning fifteen soon and she is having a party... Would you like to go there with me?"

His sister, Madeleine, wasn't his real sister. She was just as me, left by someone in the woods. Madeleine was found three years before me, and she was taken in by the Luna as she had wished for a daughter for a long time.

When Madeleine and I first heard of each other I was six year old and she was eight. The adults always joke around and say that we have been inseparable since then.

Now, when I stant face to face with the boy she calls her brother, I find myself in a cloud of confusion. How could I have forgotten him? And why was he asking me to go to her birthday party with him? If he had been keeping his eyes on me, he would know that I'm a bit of a loner. Maybe this was just a prank?

Although, I knew that  Willow, the woman I call mom, wasn't going to be happy at all if I denied his offer. Even if it is a prank, I can't take the risk.

"Okay," I forced myself to say, holding the anger in with all the strength I could muster. Surely the conversation couldn't go on for much longer than that.

Slowly I turned around and started walking back home, feeling the hunger churning deep within.

"Wait, I have some more questions for you," the boy shouted when he realized I was leaving.

"Well, ask them now so I can go home!" I stopped in my tracks to hear what he had to say. Jeez, doesn't he have anything better to do?

A small cough escaped him. His eyes were fixed at the asphalt at his feet, his eyebrows entangled above his eyes. He looked like he was thinking deeply. Surely he must have forgotten about me at this point...

"The adults... They say that your eyes looked like the nightsky. I wanted to know if it was true..."

Pinching the bridge of my nose, I let out a loud sigh. Is he seriously stupid? Did the Luna drop him on his head when he was a little baby? Pointing at my eyes as I stare into his blue ones I groan. "Clearly my eyes are brown!"
