Chapter 6

As soon as we pull into the parking lot, I can tell this is going to be fun.there isn't anyone here yet,of course they aren't here yet, we got here and hour early.

There are flashing lights and balloons around our school in red and black, our school colors. And since every year senior jocks TP the trees around the school, you could barely see the leaves.

We walk into the school and I go to put my bags in my locker. I toss my duffel bag over the lockers and decide to go try to find my friends.

I walk I go to the cafeteria that doubles as a gym and in this case, dance floor. There's and DJ at the front of the room and flashing lights everywhere. There are a couple tables with some snacks and different things like that.

I see Bryn and Jenny standing by the dj table so I go to see what they're doing. As I get closer I see bryn writing down some songs on the suggestion list, they already have 12 songs written down.

I laugh. So that's why they wanted to get here early.

"Put You're Gonna Go Far Kid by the Offspring on there," I say as I walk past them. They nod and continue writing.

I sigh and decide to play on my phone until more people show up. Right as I'm about to get a high score My guitar game, i hear a voice.

"the dance is that entertaining huh," the voice says.

"Only until they play music," I say turning around. Anthony, Mike's best friend is standing in front of me in a pink dress shirt. Yes, I said pink. Anthony, or Tony, has been at Ann's house every time I've gone over so yeah I've gotten to know him. I'm surprised he isn't by Mike, I swear if they didn't look like complete opposites, I would've thought they were brothers.

"And what would that be?" Tony asks, raising an eyebrow.

"You know, good music. Like Green Day, ACDC, All time low. Stuff like that." I explain.

"Ah. Well, i'll see you later Lex." He says, and walks away.

Just then, I see a particularly strange looking guy walk through the gym floor. He was wearing tight red leggings, some sort of mask, and this big flowing cape.

My mouth hangs open in shock. I knew Dylan was dressing up but I didn't know this much.

"i expect a compliment after all that staring," he says, stopping next to me.

I glare at him. "umm I'm not saying you don't look great, but where's your costume?" Dylan asks. Rude much?

" It's in my locker," I say. " Im changing in a bit." Dylan nods his head.

After jamming out to a few songs, i head out to the locker bay to grab my costume.

As i am heading to the bathroom, Ann runs up.

"What's in the bag, Lex?" She asks, eyeing the duffel.

"Umm..." I stutter

Just then, Ethan, Ann's date runs up.

"Hey....um....I was wondering if you might want to dance?" He asks her blushing.

"Totally! See you later, Lex!" She says excitedly.

"Have fun! Don't like, come back or anything!" I say, silently thanking Ethan.

After I change into my costume, I run back out to the dance floor.

As I start walking over to my friends, I hear one of my favorite song come on, "Shut up and dance," by walk the moon. Don't judge me, it's catchy.

"Yessss!!" I yell to no one. I run back to the gym and grabs Dylan's arm since he was unfortunate enough to be standing by the doorway.
