Chapter 5

Harry's POV

Hailey spent the entire night, shaking and restless. I tried to comfort her and let her know that everything was going to be okay, that i'd keep her safe but I guess we aren't on those terms yet. Eventually she kicked me out but my bedroom is down the hall, I could hear her sighs and her moving around in the bed constantly and this morning when she came downstairs briefly, the bags under her eyes confirmed it.

She locked herself in her room and refused to talk to even Liam. I knew that the only way I was going to be able to talk to her and convince her she's okay with us five was by pulling her out of her bedroom myself.

So that's what I was planning on doing.

I stormed up the stairs to her bedroom where the door was shut. I could hear her humming a quiet tune. I twisted the door knob but it was locked making me smirk, as if that would keep vampires out. I turned the handle fast and hard and it snapped open, the door swinging open. She gasped and jumped back, sitting tall.

"What?" She snapped loudly.

"Come on, I want to take you some where." I said making her shake her head and stand up.

"No Harry, I'm staying inside." She argued. I thought about controlling her thoughts, making her come with me but I didn't want to do that, not to her. So instead I would bring her with me against her will.

"If you don't come with me i'll just drag you out of this house kicking and screaming." I said smirking. She just shot me a dirty glare and stayed in her tall stance. I chuckled and walked over to her, throwing her over my shoulder and running out of the room as she slapped on my back screaming my name.

After a while of running with her over my shoulder and stopped fighting and gave in, asking me to put her down. I did as she asked once we were where I wanted to be.

"It's a meadow." She said confused, looking around at the open space. There were dandelions blowing in the wind and forget me not's blooming. Off to the left of the meadow was a small cabin, where I woke up after being bite.

"154 years ago I woke up over there on that porch." I said pointing to the cabin making her facial expression change as she followed my gaze then looked up at me.

"The other 4 boys know who changed them. They either keep in touch or they want to kill them." I said referring to Zayn. "I have no idea who changed me." I added making her tilt her head.

"Weren't they there?" She asked making me shake my head as I walked towards the cabin, her small footsteps following me.

"I woke up alone." I said as I reached the porch. I walked up it and ran my hand along the rough and decaying wood. She stepped onto the porch with my and starred around at the surroundings, by her face I could tell she was scared like this was some horror movie.

"No one's in there." I said smirking making her chuckle quietly, a light pink tone come to her round cheeks. Did I actually just make her laugh and blush?

"I haven't been here since I woke up, I've avoided this meadow so many times." I said starring around at the beautiful meadow that the sun shined on.

"It's so pretty though." She said stepping off the porch and walking into the tall grass.

"Too many haunting memories." I said closing my eyes for a brief moment, remembering the thirst I had, the anger that was inside of me. I felt my face shifting as my anger grew and i took a deep breath, returning to normal. I opened my eyes and she was in the middle of the meadow, giggling to herself as she watched a bunny hop in the distance. I missed being human, i missed having these moments that she's having. She's amazed with the beauty that the world holds, she can feel the sun seeping into her skin, the blood warming her body.

"You know for a super natural being you're kinda boring!!" She yelled out making me chuckle. I kicked off and in the next second i was standing right infront of her making her gasp as I put my hand on her back, pulling her into me. Her hand came to my chest and fought my presence.

"Boring huh?" I said making the breath hitch in her throat, i could hear her heart pumping against her chest.

"I was kidding." She whispered.

"I know." I whispered back, releasing her making her slap my arm causing me to laugh.

"There's one last thing." I said making her look up at me, her eyes sparkling with delight. I held my hand out for her and she starred down at it, not taking it.

"I wont bite." I teased making her roll her eyes and take my hand. I quickly interlocked our fingers and squeezed onto her tiny, smooth hand as mine engulfed hers. I dragged her through the meadow quickly and through some of the forest until we came to a water fall that flowed into a stream.

"Oh wow." She said amazed.

"I used to come here as a kid with my mom." I confessed making her look up at me. I could tell she wanted to ask about it, but she didn't. She just tightened her grip on my hand and moved in closer to me making me smile slightly, an unusual feeling grow in my stomach; one i hadn't had in forever. Butterflies formed in my stomach. It was amazing that this girl, this girl I picked out to feed on, that i wasn't supposed to grow attached to but did in such a short time, she made me feel human. I looked down at our hands then over at her, her eyes already locked on mine.

"What?" She asked quietly.

"Nothing." I said slowly letting go of her hand, wind running through my fingers making me feel empty and cold.

"Ready to see some perks of being a vampire?" I asked making her smile widely, her head nod quickly. I picked her up and threw her on my back making her squeal as her legs were quick to wrap around my torso, her arms quick to wrap around my neck. I dashed off, sprinting up the slope hill that reached the top of the water fall. In no time we were on a rock that over looked where we were just once standing. She kept her grip on me tighter and tighter as i walked to the edge of the rock.

"Do you trust me?" I asked making the breath hitch in her throat.

"No." Escaped her lips making me chuckle.

"Well you will learn to." I said pushing off making us quickly descend down to the ground, her scream echoing. My feet hit the hard ground and her screaming stopped when she noticed we were back on the ground.

"Holy shit." Escaped her mouth making me laugh loudly. I set her down and she looked up at me amazed.

"I understand the circumstances are tough and weird. How could you trust a vampire that kidnapped you and threatened you? But I promise that I'll keep you safe Hailey. Rebecca wont come near you, we have help." I said making her look up at me slowly, her mouth part.

"I promise." I said holding my pinky finger out for her making her giggle. She nodded and wrapped her small one around mine and then let go, starring up at me.

"Lets get you home." I said making her nod as we began walking towards the meadow.

"Can we cheat a little?" She asked making me laugh.

"Yup." I said making her laugh along with me as i crouched down enough for her to crawl onto my back. I kicked off and she held onto me tightly as we dashed back towards the house.
