BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!!
"Huh what?" I jumped out of bed. I realized it was only my alarm clock buzzing to wake me up for my first day at a new school. I was going to be attending Harrison High School. I just moved here to a small town on New York. I am from New York City so I am not use to the "country life"

"Veronica! Your butt better be out of bed!" My wicked step mother Drusilla called. My mother and father divorced about five years ago. My mother moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of being a script writer for television. My father wanted to stay in The city to keep his successful law firm open. At first I was frustrated my parents divorced. Then I was okay with it because they were following their dreams and were happy.
Then Drusilla came into the picture. Don't even get me started on her. Ugh.
I sighed and replied, "Of course I'm up Silla!" I call her Silla because I know it drives her crazy. I find enjoyment in frustrating her.
Since today is my first day at school, I need to make a good impression. I quickly curl my hair with my curling wand, then I apply my make up. Which consists of foundation, eyeliner and mascara. I like to keep it natural.
"What should I wear?!" I ask myself. I run to my closet and grab my dark brown ankle boots, jeans and a Lacey top.  I quickly shuffle down the stairs and head to the kitchen.
"Is that really what you are wearing today Veronica?" Silla said with a disgusted look.
" Yes and I think it's perfect," I hesitated, "unlike you.." She gave me the death stare and turned on her heal out the kitchen door.
"You can forget your ride to school!" She called. What did I care? School was only a ten minute walk from our new house. Dad was at work already and I enjoyed walking.   If I didn't hurry along I would be late. I grabbed a chocolate Belvita and ran back to my room to get a coat, my iPhone and backpack.
My step brother Henry had already left for school. He goes to Westchester Prep, a private school. I headed out the door into the crisp fall air. I inhaled the smell of freshly fallen leaves and cool air. I walked past several houses with many cars and large windows. I wasn't paying much attention to where I was going. I stumbled of course and I ended up walking of the sidewalk and over some tree roots. I tripped over a tree root and fell to the tree.
  "Ouch!" I yelped.
All of a sudden a black Chevy Tahoe pulls up to the curb. A handsome guy steps out and hurries over to me. I suddenly become embarrassed.  I am still in a heap at the tree.
" Are you all right?" He asks nervously. He rushes to my side.
"I'm alright. " I said with a weak smile. He returned the smile. He had gorgeous blue eyes and the prettiest smile I've ever seen.  I begin to slightly blush.
"I saw you fall and I thought you'd need some help. I'm a paramedic in training. Can I make sure nothing's broken?" He chuckled. I giggled and nodded.
He reaches for my left arm. I instantly feel a spark. He must to because he looks at me and winks. My arm has a couple scratches on it.
"Does this hurt?" He asks while he strokes my arm.
"No. It just stings a little."  I said.
"I have some peroxide in my car. Let's get you cleaned up." He grabs my arm and leads me over to his vehicle.
He opens up the passenger door and motions for me to sit.
"Thanks for stopping and helping me. I really appreciate it. " I give him a warm smile. He seems really kind!
" No problem! I'm glad I could help." He smiles brightly back. My god did he have a perfect smile. I began to Blush
again.
He began to clean my wounds. "So what's your name?" I asked curiously.      "Arthur. But everyone calls me Artie. What's yours?" He asked back. I like the name Artie. It's not common. "Veronica."
"What a pretty name for a pretty girl." He said sweetly. How quickly can a bad day change to a great day? Instantly.
" thanks Artie. Your really sweet." I said in response. He chuckled and finished up with my arm.
"Do you need a ride Veronica? It's no problem." He asked.
"Oh thanks. I don't want to put you through more trouble. You've already done so much." He gave me a look with his blue eyes and said.
"Really. It's no problem."
"Okay. Can you take me to Harrison High School?"
