Hello! I hope everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit since it is only 5 days away! I'm having trouble this year. But I'll get there!
-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•"Veronica? Are you there?" Lilly questioned. I just had a flashback from a few years back. I had totally spaced out.
"Oh yeah," I replied. "I was just thinking." We finally entered the classroom and it was full of all sorts of people! Some people were eating bagels and chatting about some TV program they watched last night. Others were catching up on some sleep.
The teacher named Mrs. McCartney introduced herself and handed me a Chemistry textbook."Thank you." I said with a smile. I need a good reputation here. "Where should I sit?" I asked. Mrs. McCartney pointed over to a desk in the second row between a girl with a short light brown bob and grey eyes. I instantly recognized her from Chelsea's group. Jerk.
On the other side was an almost cute guy with sandy blond hair and dark green eyes. He was furiously scribbling something into a notebook while someone was passing him a folded up piece of paper.
I took my seat and opened my backpack and pulled out my Chem binder and a blue pen.
"Pssst!" I heard someone say, or maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me. "Psssst!" There it was again! I was looking around the room. Everyone seemed busy doing something. We almost everyone besides green eyes sitting next to me. I turn to see him staring at me.
"Hey, new girl," he said. He seemed kind of weird but I shouldn't be labeling. Well, at least not at this point.
"Hey," I replied with half a smile.
"I'm Jason. So this is your first day here?" He asked sweetly. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all.
"Veronica. Yes this is my first day. I recently moved here from New York City." I noticed the girl on my left was now paying attention to our conversation.
Just then we were cut off by the bell signaling the beginning of class.
"We'll talk later," I smiled.
"Alright. Let's take out our notes from yesterday," Mrs. McCartney began. The she passed me a fill in the note packet. Jason handed me his to quickly fill in so I was up to speed on the notes.
"Trista, would you answer question 10 for us?" McCartney asked.
I realized Trista was the girl next to me.
She scuffed at McCartney's question.
"Yeah right! Like I would be doing that!" She called back rudely. Wow. At my old school of someone were to talk back they would get kicked out of the room.
"Answer the question or go to the principles office," McCarney scolded her.
Trista glared at me. " why not have the new girl answer it?" She said with a laugh that sounded like a cackle.
Mrs. McCartney gave me a sincere look. I smiled and replied with " the answer is 58%." Trista continued to glare at me. But what did I care?
"Correct." The teacher said with a pleased look on her face. The class continued on with me answering several more questions correctly.
At my old school, we had already learned this material so it was all just review for me.Class was over with the bell and I got a message.
Artie?
To my disappointment it was a number I didn't recognize.{better watch out newbie. In order to survive in this cool you'll need to face me. Ha. Good luck with that. Btw, drop the smart act. It looks bad on you. }. I was horrified. Who would send me this?
Trista! Ugh I hate her already! Almost as much as I hate Chelsea. Almost."Is everything okay?" Lilly said as she approached me with her books.
"Oh yeah. Someone had the wrong number or something." I said quickly. I'm not very good at lying.
"Oh. Well we better get going so I can show you where your next class is." She said leading me out of the room.
We headed down another crowded hallway.
I'm ready for this school day to be over and it's only just begun.
Great.
