I walk up the steep concrete  steps of Harrison High School.  All along the stairs I see your typical high school cliques.
The wannabe goths, jocks, druggies, hippies, loners, geeks and of course, the popular clique.
As I walk past, who looked to be the leader of the pack, a tall blonde glared me down. I smiled back at her. She could be a jerk to me, however I needed to give myself a good reputation here. I needed a better reputation than the one at my other school in NYC. But, that's another story.
Finally. I made it up the stairs and to the huge maple doors with beautiful glass with the school logo, a horse and the school name.
Right as I reached out for the doors felt a hard tug on my back pack, which caused me to lose my balance.
"W-wooh" I stuttered. I was now on the
Platform laying on my back. That blonde that gave me the nasty glare was towering above me.
"Oops," she spat. "Better stay out of my way newbie. Or we'll have a problem." She smirked and stepped over me and into the school.
How rude! This means war! No more nice Veronica. This is a new school new me. I'm not the same girl I was last year.
Well, at least that's what I hoped.

"Are you okay?" A girl with strawberry blonde hair asked giving me her hand to help me up. At least someone would show me some respect here.
"Yes thanks. I'm alright. I'm Veronica by the way ." I replied.
"I'm Lilly" she said with a kind smile. I have made my first friend here!

"Who was that anyways?"
She looked around to see if anyone was listening. Then she brought me into the school towards the nurses office to see if I had and cuts or scrapes.

"That was Chelsea Matthews. Try to stay in her good side and you'll survive." She said while the nurse appeared in front of us with a first aid kit.

"Ohh! She sounds like a real life Regina George," I joked.

"Haha! No I'm serious," she began. "Chelsea and I use to be best friends. We did everything together. Go shopping, on vacations  and we hung out almost every weekend. Then at the beginning of freshman year, she totally dropped me for some fake chicks. But I'm better off without being friends with her. I've got friends who I can trust. I could never really trust her." She explained.

"I know the feeling.." I began. This reminded me of Anna. But that's another story. And I don't need to think about anyone from my old school. Except for Andrea and Alex. My true friends.

The nurse fixed me up and I looked good as new, minus a few scratched. I'm glad I got here semi-early for my first day.  Although, this day has been pretty interesting so far.

"Do you have your schedule for classes with you? Maybe we have classes together so I can show you around a bit. " I handed her my schedule I grabbed from my bag.

"Yeah I hope we do! It would be nice to know at least one person in my classes,"

"Yep we have chemistry, lunch and algebra II together. Follow me!" We walked past several students who all waved and spoke to Lilly. Seems like she has lots if friends. I hope by the end of the week I'll have lots of friends to hang out with.

Beep!

My phone buzzed I pull it out of my pocket, it's a text from Artie.

{ i hope you have a good first day! I'm glad I ran into you this morning! :) ~Artie}
aww! How sweet of him! I blushed I could not stop thinking about him since earlier. I hope to see him again soon.
{ your so sweet! Thanks for helping me earlier! ;) ~ V}  I sent back. He instantly replied with,

{i would like to see you soon. How about coffee sometime soon?} my heart fluttered. Could this be real? At my old school, boys never paid much attention to me. I can tell things here are going to be much better.

{how about today at 4?} I sent with a huge grin plastered across my face. People gave me strange looks but I didn't care. I was going out with Artie later for coffee!

I quickly caught up to Lilly and followed her to the Chemistry classroom and filled her in on what happened earlier this morning b
