I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing,
"Hello?" I said, still half asleep.
"Hey, we are going to the beach, get your stuff together I am picking you up in thirty minutes." My best friend Olivia said.
"Uh, I am not really in the mood to go to the beach today." I said, getting out of my bed.
"I didn't ask if you were in the mood I just said we are going to the beach no get ready! We need to get you over Jake!" Olivia said.
I rolled my blue eyes, "Fine."
I went over to my closet and grabbed a baggy over the shoulder sweatshirt and some short shorts. I put them on and walked across the hall to the bathroom. I put my hair in a tight knot above my head and brushed my teeth. Then I walked down stairs to get breakfast because I was starving.
"Hi, Mom." I said, as I poured a bowl of cereal.
"Hi, honey." My mom said looking up from her computer.
Two minutes later Olivia was pulling into my drive way.
"Bye Mom I'm gonna go to the beach for a while." I said, as I walked out the front door. I hopped into Olivia's car, and we drove to the beach, which was about thirty minutes from my house.
"So, you ready to go meet boys?" Olivia asked, as we drove.
"You do realize that I just broke up with my boyfriend, right? AND I happened to really like him..." I said, looking over at Olivia, she had the seat of the car scooted way up because she was really short everyone always gave her crap about it.
"I know but you do realize that getting a new boyfriend will help you forget about Jake and help you move on." She said, staring straight ahead.
"Yeah, It would." I said but the real question was, was I ready to move on? Had he moved on?
