Misaki eyes slowly slid open, in a daze he glanced around the room.

"That's right... I feel asleep, didn't I?" Misaki spoke aloud with a yawn.

That's when he instantly remembered what had happened last night and he shot to his feet and looked over to where he last saw Saruhiko.

Much to his relief, Saruhiko was still there. However, he was sitting up fiddling with his PDA.

"HUH!?" Misaki yelled louder than he intended to.

"Tch. Pipe down, would you?" Saruhiko groaned slightly.

Misaki was definitely confused as to why Saruhiko was acting so natural about the whole situation. Another thing that surprised him was the fact that he was still here.

"Why haven't you left?" Misaki asked bluntly.

"Hm? Do you want me to leave?" Saruhiko asked in his usual bored tone.

"Ah- no I guess not but, this is unexpected... I'd expect you to leave as soon as you saw where you were." Misaki trailed off slightly.

"Don't get the wrong idea, I'm just sore and tired." Saruhiko replied with a click of his tongue.

"So, I'm crashing here until I feel like going back to Scepter 4." Saruhiko added, sounding completely bored.

Misaki frowned at Saruhiko and Saruhiko just gave him a stare.

"What happened to you...?" Misaki asked softly.

"Speak up, Misaki~" Saruhiko teased.

"What happened to you!?" Misaki clenched a fist.

"Don't you realize how much of a scare you gave me, last night!?" Misaki flinched at his own words but it was too late now.

Saruhiko remained silent for a while until he finally spoke up.

"Just got a little ruffled during a mission..." Saruhiko responded seeming deep in thought.

"A little ruffled....!? Those wounds wer-" Misaki's yells were cut off by Saruhiko.

"I told you to quiet down, didn't I?" Saruhiko scoffed.

"I just ran into a strain and fell for its trickery." Saruhiko seemed to be avoiding Misaki's gaze.

"Trickery...?" Misaki gave him a questioning look.

"I don't have to explain myself to you." Saruhiko responded, turning away.

"Gah! Whatever, Saru... let me change your bandages!" Misaki brushed aside Saruhiko's cold words and decided to pester him about something else.

"Why?" Saruhiko gave him a cold glare.

"Because, it's unhealthy to not change the dirty bandages." Misaki responded with a huff.

Saruhiko was unwilling at first but eventually decided to comply.

He removed his plain shirt so Misaki could tend to the bandages.

Misaki tossed to bloodied bandages aside and began dressing the wounds with the fresh material.

"It's looking a lot better than it did yesterday, I'd say I did an excellent job." Misaki said proudly.

"Don't congratulate yourself over something so minor." Saruhiko rolled his eyes.

Misaki decided to ignore that comment and continue with his handy work.

Eventually, when Misaki was pleased with the results he stopped and placed the clip on to hold the bandages in place.

He was just about to pick up the bloodied bandages when he noticed Saruhiko's scratched up HOMRA insignia.

Misaki froze in place. It hurt him to see that. The painful reminder that the person before him is no longer his closest friend. This person was a traitor, a cold-hearted traitor.

Without thinking Misaki reached out his hand and slightly touched the insignia.

Saruhiko gasped slightly from the sudden cold touch.

They both remained silent for what felt like hours.

Even though Misaki's hand was cold, Saruhiko's skin felt even colder compared to his hand. This made Misaki even more upset really, the Saruhiko he knew was always warm.

"Mi~sa~ki, what are you doing?" Saruhiko grinned slightly, attempted to taunt the shorter boy.

Misaki chuckled slightly and responded with a soft voice.

"What am I doing?"
