Then The Crane touched me there, and whispered "Shall thou be our light, to walk on this land once again. For the prophecy shall fulfilled by, and only by the Himikryu hime who kissed by the fire,"

Suddenly everything became white, as like I was floating in an extreme blizzard. I gasped, tried so hard to breath but it seems water started to fill my lung. With a hurting startled I sat up, and found those hazel eyes a mere inches from mine, and then I started to scream.

The cursed blood...
Inherited from mothers to daughters...
Bound all the females who share it with calamity and death...
For exchange of wealth and power...

Her name was Shizuka Morii, a 22 years old female student from architectural major in T University. Evidentially, she inherited the cursed blood of Himikryu, an ancient and extremely powerful onmyouji family. The Himikryu were famous in the Japanese dark magic and assassination, since they used to work in cruel, bloody part of magic, filled with evil summoning and casting curses and hexes.

The legend said that only females in the family were blessed with their unusual onmyouji ability. They used to keep their eyes on the Himikryu princesses with blazing red hair. Daughters of Kagutsuchi, they called them. Outstanding beauty indeed, with stunning red hair and piercing brilliant eyes. But, like the Kagutsuchi himself, his daughters were merciless, cruel, and haughty, with practical and callous personality. Like one of their sage told once, the brighter the fire, the greater its flame, and with it come darker shadows and more destructive power. They were the real assassins, the one who sent shadows and death to bring their enemy down.

The Himikryu was annihilated when a bloody incident occurred in their mansion. It was known as The Himuro Mansion incident, when they failed to perform The Strangling Ritual to seal their bad karma. They picked a maiden from the branch family, the one with weak Himikryu blood and sacrificed her to prevent the calamity their brought. The maiden, who secluded from the world to keep her pure, was fallen in love with a commoner man, and flee with him. It said that the head master succeed to killed the man, but the maiden was gone. He became mad, and cut down all his family member and retainers before killed himself. Legend said that the master threw his sword into the cliff after he stabbed himself and bleeds to death, cast curses to his own family to follow him to his grave.

The maiden then went back to her family in Chiba, but they cast her away. For being a branch family, and for their ignorance, they thought the maiden was too afraid to die, and then became a fugitive. They were afraid of the main family power, so they sent the maiden to Sado Island, the island of outcasts. They told her to hide there, and never come back. After that, no one knew about her story.

Legend said that her family and other branch families of Himikryu were annihilated by a calamity upon their blood. No one survived the curses their master cast. No one but the sole survivor herself. Away up in the north, hid in the bizarre cold and harsh weather of Sado Island, no one knew how the maiden could survive. But the story continues, as two brothers, with deep dark red hair came back to Chiba and introduces their self as The Morii Brothers. They brought a pile of gold, silver, and jewels with them, together with a lot of treasures and valuable items to Chiba, and bought as much land as they could afford in the prefecture, together with the cursed mansion as well.

The Morii Brothers were big and strong, with loud growling voice and pale skin that quickly flushed under the sun. They had odd colors on their eyes, and unusual facial structure. But they were kind hearted and hard workers, with enormous power and ability that loved by people around them. These gentle giants wrote their own legend as the most successful businessmen in Edo and Chiba, and buried the dark stories of Himikryu into nothing but bedtime stories.
