Whale of a dream

The dark waters churned beneath my feet. They licked at the shoreline and slammed into the dock, scattering the dark, empty boats that had been tied down in a rush. A unearthly song erupted from the waves, only to be drowned again as people drew near. They ran as fast as there legs could carry them, there faces painted red by the fire they were carrying.

With a mighty splash the water erupted, going this way and that scattering fishes high into the sky along with the sleek figure of the monster called the Boogie Man.

The giant trashed it's tail, shooting into the great blue sky. Effortlessly passing by clouds and birds, she let out a odd giggle. Her six legs reaching out to touch the clouds. The giant whale-like creature from space danced around the clouds, careful to not knock any airplanes out of the sky.

She stopped, rolling over so that her bell was to the sky. Looking up the beast gazed at the sky, closing her eyes and imagining the worlds that she had yet to see. To be honest, she couldn't wait to go an explore, to see if there were anymore of her kind left; but... she felt a... how do you say.... pull or attraction towards the weird, biped creatures that wondered about below her.

Maybe because they didn't know there purpose, they were so lost on there small planet that they couldn't imagine what lay beyond.

Smiling, the six-legged space whale looked below her, making out their cites and shapes they held so dear. Still innocent of what the universe had to offer. The pain and the adventure, the promises it doesn't keep. The Joy it can bring, and the souls it can break.

What you still have yet to imagine, that's what lays beyond.

Adventure is hiding in your shadow and in your soul.

Go find it.
