'This is so boring, why did I ever think that starting my own cafe was going to work out well? I think I get a maximum of ten customers a day and that is not good!' Beth thought quietly to herself.
''Beth! Beth!" Someone shouted.
'Great I know that sound, it's my mother, Patricia. By the way she is my rich, full of herself, millionaire mother who can have anything she wants but never shares any of it with me!'
I turned around a said in a jolly tone "hi mom, what are you so excited about?" I tried to sound enthusiastic but I know I sounded completely disengaged.
Then my mom chirped up with "Honey, you will never guess who I just got off the phone with!"
"Who mom who?!?" I squeaked, a little more excited this time.
"We'll honey I know you have always loved one direction, and you would kill for a chance to meet them. So I just called One Direction's manager Paul! And he said that the boys have heard that your cafe is a great place to get great tasting food and drink while on the go. So the boys have asked if tomorrow it would be okay with you if they stopped by on their way past to see if the rumours are really true!" She practically sang that whole paragraph!
"Oh My God, Oh My God, Oh My God!!! So mom let me get this straight THE One Direction will be stopping by at MY cafe to see if it is as good as people are saying?!?!?!" I screamed.
"Yes honey, you got it spot on!!" She sang again.
Then it really hit me. One Direction will be coming to see my cafe. But my cafe is horrible it is always nearly empty in here and it needs a huge cleanup!
Then my mom chirped up "Listen honey, I have to go and call Paul back to let him know it is great with you! See you later honey!! Byeee!!!!"
Then the second mom left I called an emergency staff meeting:
"Guys I have just been told by my mother that One Direction will be stopping by here tomorrow at noon as they pass by because they have heard it is a great place to be!!"
There was a lot of murmuring and shuffling about and smiles that erupted but I wasn't smiling anymore.
"Guys, I know that this could be the best thing to happen to Cafe One, but it is really bad too!" The room went silent, except for Jess who asked quickly " how on this holy earth could this be bad for the cafe at all?!?"
I said "It can also be bad for the cafe guys because guys you see, the place is an absolute mess we have hardly any customers and we simply CANNOT afford to do the place up and make it look nice, so we are going to have to do with what we already have okay?" " We have no money and no decorations at all we can't let One Direction see the place as it is now! We have to work together and work all night at cleaning this place up and making it look presentable for the guys before they come. It is 6 O'clock already and they will be here tomorrow at noon. We will be closing up the cafe early now, jake if you could go and announce that we are closing early and that everyone has to be gone within 2 minutes please?"
Jake replied "consider it done."
"Right then guys lets get to work then shall we!!"
'I immediately started throwing out orders and everyone was following like they were my dogs and I was their owner.'
