My name is Adam.. Adam Williams. Right now, I am 36 years old who's living a great life with a great wife and our 2 lovely kids.

But, looking back on how it was in years gone by...

Oh (*sigh*) those really were the years of wonder!

------

1968, I was 12 years old. I just graduated from Hillcrest elementary, and I was about to enter Junior Highschool. I didn't know then if I should get excited or whatever, but I didn't care much because all I was thinking about was how I was going to spend my summer vacation.

I grew up here in the suburbs, with my lousy older brother Wayne, and our oldest sister Heather who loved to party with friends and come home late at night everytime.

We also lived with our lovely 39yr. old mom, Olivia, and our very hard-working strict father, George. We live in a house that isn't that big, and isn't that small. It's just like any houses here in the suburbs inside Culver City, California.. In a way, this really were the wonder place for us, in the suburbs.

----

It was summer before junior high, and it was a really sunny day outside. This street of us which is the 9th has always been clean, lots of trees, smelled nice... and well, I loved this place. It's so quiet and peaceful.

So then, we were playing football that time.. Me, my brother, and with like 5 other kids which includes my bestfriend, Mike Turner.. Sure he looked a little nerdy, wore braces, thin, always wore his thick glasses, and high-waisted shorts..

And me, well.. I was like any other 12year old kid.. Normal weight, loved wearing polo shirts, and jeans pants...

But hey, no judgement... I loved the guy (Mike), and I was thankful to have him as my best pal..

So yeah, that day, we were playing like any other kids. Some girls were playing jumping rope across, and us boys, we played like any other kids who play football. Not to mention we were playing for like half an hour and we were playing so hard that we all looked sort of blemished.

We were all running and my brother's got the ball. He passed it to me with full force, and when I caught it, it smacked to my stomach severely, that I fell...  As usual, my brother laughed at me.. Yep, he's a TOTAL butthead.

I was holding my hurt stomach while getting up, and when I got up, I saw one of the girls who was playing jumping rope, which lives from across our house, Gwen Parker, who's about my age (because we both graduated last month in Hillcrest elementary), I saw her holding the ball and she came to me and gave the ball. She was wearing a jumper, she has a long brown hair which was braided pigtails and with full bangs, and was wearing glasses like a total nerd. Well, we were friends when we were very little and we used to go down to Harper's woods not so far from here to catch fireflies. It isn't just like a playground, it's like a golden place for us. Well sadly, we stopped hanging out together since we were about 9.

"It was a pretty hard pass." she said after she gave the ball to me.

All I said was "Yeah", and then my brother yelled teasingly "Come on Adam, stop flirting around now with your girlfriendddd!"

"She's not my girlfriend!" I said a little angry.

So I went back to the boys to continue our game..

"What's the matter Adam, your girlfriend's mad at you? Why don't you give her a big kiss? Ha-ha!" oh my brother was really getting on my last nerve!

"Jerk." I whispered

"What did you say?!"

"I said you're a JERK!"

And then he shoved me off vigorously that I fell, and then he sat on top of me while I was down, and started punching my left shoulder several times.

*sigh* Apparently, he just deeply hate the fact that I've been born, and he wanted me to feel the same way. Well, I already got used to him making fun of me as always. He loves it whenever I get degraded by him.

Mike tried to stop him.

"Come on Wayne, stop it! Let him up"

Wayne answered Mike while still punching my shoulder

"Uh sorry Mike, but this is a family matter. ha-ha"

And then it happened... someone yelled from across our house

"HEY WAYNE! YOU BETTER STOP THAT BEFORE I DO THE SAME THING TO YOU" .. says Brian while standing there, lighting up his cigarette like 15feet away from us. It was Gwen's older brother, Brian Parker. He always looked like a total badass. Six-pack, long hair, about 5"11, loved to wear fitted black tshirts and skinny jeans... But despite his strong appeal, he's still not kind of a guy who would throw away his life for destruction and would wear tattoos and piercings... but he smokes. Well, it's not that bad. I think he was well-bred.

So, He was 19 then, and for us, he defined COOL. Almost all of the kids and girls in our town admired him... He has always been so protective of Gwen and the people around this town because he was the youth leader of our community.

He had this really great blue Mercedes Benz which he was always on their front yard working on it... Sweaty... grease all over his hands...

WHAT A GUY!

So my brother stopped punching me and then he gave Brian a big smile as he got off of me... Mike helped me up. Thanks to the coolest guy in our territory!

 ---

So we ended our game early because my mom said that I better be back at lunch then we had to shop for my school supplies after because class was 3 days away..

I was about to enter the teen years!
