Dear August

chapter 7

Kady's POV:
After my parents made me blow out some candles on a cupcake I locked myself in my room. I'm not the type of girl that seeks attention so I was kind of uncomfortable. I started to get ready, I put on this dress my mom bought me for my birthday, it was actually pretty with the floral print, it stopped about midthigh so I could show off my legs. I still wasn't fond of the idea of dressing up so I put on my converse and curled my hair. I was ready to go to school and I was even going to be on time today.

I walked downstairs to tell my parents bye, after a hug and birthday wishes I walked out to Fredrick. I start the truck and was just about to pull out of my driveway when all of a sudden there was a person behind my car. I slammed on my breaks to avoid hitting them. I put my car in park and jumped out to see what happened and when I got to the back side of my car I screamed in horror to find august laying on the ground. I was terrified, I mean I just ran over my freaking neighbor, ON MY BIRTHDAY, I started to tear up and I was trying to see if he was responsive by yelling at him but nothing. I could tell he was breathing but still this was bad. I was full out bawling now, and I was lightly tapping his face trying to snap him awake, then out of no where he leans up and screams. I returned the scream, confused on what just happened.

"Happy birthday, kady!"

"Oh my god, what the hell!" Him scaring me kind of made me mad, I really thought I hit him. He was slightly chuckling at my frustration. "How did you even know it is my birthday?"

"Oh, when your mom and I were waiting for you to come downstairs last night she told me like everything about you." He say laughingly "I even know you lost your first tooth when you were 5." My cheeks turned red in embarrassment, I mean my mom could've told him plenty of embarrassing things about me.

I helped him up and playfully punched his arm. That was a dick move, I mean that was totally uncalled for, but I guess for him it would have been kind of funny.

"Umm kady... do you think I can get a ride to school?" He looks kind of embarrassed. "I haven't quite figured out how to drive on the left side of the car yet and I missed the bus."

"Uh, ya anytime." We both hopped in the truck and we where off. It was kind of an awkward ride we just sat there and listened to the music.

We finally got there, I grabbed my bag and got out. He had already walked off I guess, I had no clue where he just ran off too. I gathering all my stuff out of the car when Lara, my best friend, wraps her arms around me "happy birthday!"

"Awe thanks" I hugged her back, then I see tristin and treshawn walking up behind us. I sigh very annoyed, I totally forgot about a week ago Lara and treshawn started dating.

I release from the hug and turn to finish getting my stuff together and I hear the two love birds talking about some great tackles he had at the game last night. I hadn't told anyone about what happened, just tris, treshawn, and I knew about the happening. But honestly I was fine with that.

I got all my books and closed my door, when I turned around I was practically standing my tristins feet, we where that close. I roll my eyes in disgust and hit him with my shoulder as I walk past him.

"Babe, why didn't you answer any of my calls last night?"

I stopped in my tracks and turned in my heals to face him.

"you know god damn well why." I yelled probably a little too loud, judging by all the people staring at us.
