In case you're wondering, English isn't my first language. I started with this story some months ago already, but I wrote it in Estonian.

And thanks to AnotherTeenCliche for editing :)

I hope you enjoy it. This story has lots of fantasy (urban fantasy) and romance. But fantasy doesn't start till second chapter's end. And romance also takes some time to enter the story. But I tell you again, it's going to be FULL of fantasy/romance ;D And this story is taking place at Blue Mist, the town that is my made up.

PS. First chapter isn't really impressive. Nothing really happens here. So I suggest you to keep reading ;D

"Selina please, please, come. You have no idea what you'll be missing!"

I sighed deeply, the cold metal locker's door supporting my head as I thought. I knew Nicole wouldn't leave me alone till she gets her yes. I glimpsed at my watch and sighed again. Twelve more minutes until lessons begin. So it was more reasonable to give in now than to suffer more of her pleading.

"Well, fine then," I finally agreed. "But I don't want to stay for too long..."

Nicole was practically hopping on fer feet, face shining from happiness. "Thank you, thank you... You can't even imagine how much it means to me!"

"I thought you did this kind of things every weekend. How can dragging me along make it so special?"

"You're my best girl friend, which makes it very special. Besides, you'll be a spinster forever if you don't go to parties and hang out with other people. And I mean people your own age."

I rolled my eyes. "You don't need to get drunk to meet new people."

"So you want to study and learn and study more and be a good girl and then hope to make friends in some circle of geeks?"

I groaned at Nicole's sarcasm, whilst banging my locker's door shut. "I'm not a geek. And not all normal people are party animals."

"Oh, come on. You need to add some spark to your life. Make yourself feel free. And it's about time to pay more attention to the opposite sex."

"I am doing that," I sighed. I shut my locker and headed towards our English class. "Just not that intensely."

"And there's the problem," Nicole pointed out when following me. "But let's do a test now," she said with a tone which made me roll my eyes again. I stopped and waited for whatever was coming now. Nicole took a hold from my shoulders and turned me around. I now saw a group of boys, standing some feet ahead of us. "Now, Kyle," Nicole said. "Describe him. What do you know and think about him."

I frowned and thought about it. "Um... He likes football, he spends a lot of time with cheerleaders- specially the blond ones... He is not good at maths or science..."

"No, I don't mean that," Nicole snapped. "What do you see in him?"

I tried to think of something fast, to calm Nicole down. "Kyle isn't my type. And besides, I'm a brunette."

"That's not the point," Nicole moaned. "He doesn't like geeks, we all know that." I wanted to get back to her, but she kept talking. "The point is to describe a guy with your own opinion. Forget about everything else. Just say what you see in him and how you like him."

I took a deep breath and tried again, eager to get it done with. "I think he is arrogant and has a bit too much self-esteem. He is rich, but that doesn't interest me either. But I must say he has good looks."

Nicole nodded. "Okay then. Let's take another one." She looked around for a moment and turned me again. "Brad. Describe him."

"Let's see... A bit short, round face, but he's in good shape... He is cute in his own way. Tough he doesn't do too well at studying, he at least tries, and that is a good thing. His personality: good-hearted, helpful, venturous, smart... He is strong, he has appealing voice... But still not my type. Besides, he is already taken."

"Much better." Nicole smiled and looked around again. "Oh, but how about him," she said as she turned me to face a window. I saw many students from there. "Describe Jake Austin." The change in voice was caused by her not too small crush on Jake. But Nicole has never had the courage to let him know about her feelings.

"Well, he looks cute, he is strong, has great body-built, slender, beautiful smile..." As I counted, I studied Nicole's expression, which went more jealous with my every word. I grinned. "Most of his free time he spends with his strange gang. I have never really seen him make friends with anyone from our school, but he isn't too lonesome either. He isn't arrogant or excessively good. He is a great student, but doesn't spend too much on studying either, as far as I know at least. So far he is the best choice, I should say. But it seems so that he isn't too interested in having a girlfriend. At least from our school."

Nicole winced for a moment, but it was gone as fast as it appeared. "Okay then. Let those boys be for now. But make sure you dress in something that looks good on you. I have heard that color red is somehow appealing to men's subconsciousness."

"Yes, yes. I'll see that."

When we reached our English classroom, I took the last seat under the window. There I leaned against the wall. Nicole sat next to me. I heard her non-stop talking about the upcoming party without paying much attention to it. I rather dreamt of the moment when this all is over.

"So Nicole talked you into going with her?" Rudy asked, taking his seat in front of our desk. He was the third member of our three membered friendship. Nicole and Rudy have been my best friends since we were little.

"And I'm guessing you won't come," I said instead of answering.

Rudy shook his head. "No, I can't. Sorry."

I shrugged. "Lucky you."

Nicole pretended to take offense and Rudy started laughing. Rudy had a reason why he often couldn't come with us. Something was about his family. I don't know everything, but Rudy often has to look after her younger sister. And if I know correctly, he has rough parents.

"But you can tell me on Monday what happened." He sent me a clever smirk, which I moaned at.

"I'm not planning on finding myself a guy!"

"We'll see about that," Nicole laughed.
