Today on this November 26, 2042, Lucas was celebrating Thanksgiving. Though they lived in a corrupt country in a state of turmoil, the Green family still valued giving thanks for what they had. The Greens actually had turkey on this Thanksgiving because of the money Lucas made from selling the emerald. They normally only had mashed potatoes, bread, and cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving. The family went around the table and discussed what they were thankful for this year. Between Lucas, his sister Vicki, Lydia, and his father, Frank, the family came up with good health, a roof over their head, and the shining blue emerald. When they were finished, Frank heard a strange noise coming from the sleeping room. "Did you hear that crash?" Frank said. The Greens ran to inspect the situation and to their horror.
