Chapter 2

I gazed outside the whole trip barely blinking. How could I when I saw the sight before me. Massive sky scrapers which looked as if it could graze the plane , hectares of industrialization as far as the naked eye could see.

I inhaled this totally different scenery.
After we passed the main city Andrew drove into a secluded street which consisted of massive houses which could fit my whole town!
Hell,maybe even whole of Fiji!

"here we are Ms ",Andrew announced.
As we pulled into the huge roundabout which had a gigantic fountain the middle with statues.

What is wrong with this people?! how much space do they need?!

Keep your cool Lani, its their money not yours.

It was your typical modern mansion.
stunning and HUGE.

"Mom, we made it" I woke her gently.

Someone tapped the Window hard, "aaarrrrgghh! "we shouted causing us to bump foreheads.

Grumbling we stepped out of the car. I looked up and saw an older version of mum who was dressed well and a generous man dressed in a suit.

With linked arms they greeted us. "Hello Lani, its so nice to finally meet you" Mrs Radisson said extending her hand.

I ran and embraced them in a hug."Likewise" I squealed as if I was meeting Harry Styles in the flesh.
What? A girl can dream!

They turned to mom, "Amanda, how long has it been?" Mr Radisson asked her with a kind expression.

She gave him a long look," too long father ".

It was confirmed they were gonna have a long talk after this.

To release the tension I drawled out "so....."

Grandma(too soon?) Eh..who cares.

Anyway grandma looked up,
"oh dear,you must be exhausted!
Welcome to your new home, let me show you to your room", ushering us both inside.

The inside of the house looked even better.
with a high ceiling and gigantic glass windows to sparkling chandeliers.

I let out a low whistle and spun around in this house of perfection.
Grandpa chuckled at me and whispered to mum
"she sure is your daughter."

After all the ooh's and aah's escaped my mouth five thousand times.
I had finally settled in and stuck all my photos of back home" all around the room including all my sports equipment.

Yes,.I am skinny,lanky and tall but all the muscles are just hidden...somewhere....

Basically i Lani'fied the room.
It felt so good to have my own bathroom and a bed big enough for 5 people.

"Knock knock "mum said as she plopped herself onto my bed.

"How was 'the talk'? I sat down beside her.

"It went well actually" she looked relieved .
We then sat in silence which was way too odd.

She then broke down into tears.
"mom? what happened?" I asked trying to comfort her.

"I'm so sorry, seeing you get all excited about this house and my parents, and I tried to keep it from you. When really its all that you wanted and i couldn't provide it all for you" she sobbed.

I shushed her.
" ma!, you know that's not true. Us sticking together that's all I ever wanted and needed. And the amount of love that you provide towards me is bigger than this house! But togetherness and family that's all that matters right now."

"Thanks Lani you always know how to cheer me up " she said sniffling.

We must be related", I replied sarcastically and bumped her shoulder.

"Hardy har har,Okay I better start unpacking " she stood up and headed towards the door.

"Aye! and apparently none of your grandparents are sick they said that so we could move here quicker".

I knew it.

"Oh and Lani?" mum looked at me smirking.
"Yasss?" I eyed her suspiciously.

"You've got school tomorrow."

What?! I screamed into the pillow like there was no tomorrow.

Ugh ...just great.
