5: Meet the parents

I finish walking down the stairs and open up the door to see the people I only just met yesterday. Lucy runs up and hugs me, so I hug her back while everyone else just stands awkwardly.

"Welcome guys, come in", i let go of Lucy to see Charlie smiling at me, while Max is already walking inside.

A slight nod to Charlie is given from my head so I can introduce myself to his parents. Well this is going to be scary.

"Hi I'm Winter" I say while sticking out my hand to give a firm handshake to this first taker, which as it seems is the father, "Hello, I'm Brad and this is my lovely wife Sarah" he says while shaking my hand.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both. Come inside I'll show you to mum." I take a few steps back so the new arrivals can step inside "follow me" i smile and turn around, great now to find mother.

I walk into the kitchen praying that mum will be in there and she is, cooking as well, she turns around and wipes her hands on her apron. So it turns out mum and Sarah already know
each other and they start chatting right away, just as dad walks into the kitchen. "Hey man I'm Joe" dad says giving Brad a handshake, "the names Brad" and right away they both hit it off too.

I walk out of the kitchen as it seems my help is no longer needed and I walk outside to the hammock I set up yesterday.

After about ten minutes of almost falling asleep and listening to the beach. I hear footsteps walking up to me.

"So this is where you've been" the voice sounds familiar but I can't quite get a finger on it. I open my eyes and my heart stops, its the gorgeous Charlie.

"So I have, want to join?" Thank you for the past day letting my gain some confidence, also thank myself for buying a hammock that is strong enough and wide enough to fit two people, honestly life goals. He nods his head so i move over so he can lie down next to me.

After a couple minutes of silence he speaks "It really is pretty out here isn't it?" I smile "yeah it is, a lot different from my old home" i say with a slight sadness in my tone, it's only been two days but it feels like forever.

"Yeah I bet it is, but when you have your house party you can invite all your old friends" he laughs, which also makes me laugh slightly as his laugh is just gorgeous, like music to my ears.

"You excited for school on Monday?" He asks. Oh school I completely forgot about that, the new people, classes and bitches to look forward to, oh how exciting. "Kind of I guess just a little scared." I finally say.

"Well don't be, the girls in my group are really nice," he really is serious about us sitting with him, well at least I will know someone - "Dinner time" I hear mums voice interrupting my thoughts.

"Well we better get going I guess" I don't want to leave this comfy place, but food, so I move off the hammock and make my way inside with Charlie.
