Behind the Hidden Face.

Chapter 1

----------------------------------------------------

"Skylar," my mum, Zandra, shook me. "Wake up, I have news.."

She had a worried look, which bothers me. I am scared to know. I turned over and moaned.

"Skylar." A change of tone swept in her voice.

"Okay," I said, sitting up fast. "I'll meet you downstairs."

I lead her out of the door, shutting and locking it behind me. I climbed back into bed and digged my face into my soft white pillow.

**

It's been about five minutes until a heard a struggle to get into my room.

"Skylar!" My mum said, knocking on the door.

I rolled me eyes and opened it, passing her quick and slumping down the stairs.

"Don't have an attitude." She said, trailing behind me.

I wandered into the kitchen, where my brother Kendall was sitting there, eating cereal. Kendall is younger than me. He's ten, I'm eighteen.

"Skylar, sit down." My mum pulled a chair out for me to sit.

I quietly sat down in the chair, confused. I took a few glances at Kendall, but he shrugged.

"Well.. Luke and I.. We.." My mum started.

Luke was my mum's boyfriend.

"Found a house.. In Holmes Chapel. Just eight hours from here."

The looks on Kendall and I's face was shocked. We love it here.

"N-no mum!" Kendall cried.

"Kendall.." My mum formed a frown.

"What about my friends?" He sobbed.

"You can make other friends." She tried to comfort him.

I sat there, terrified. Why do we have to move? What do I tell my best friend.. And my boyfriend?

"I'm going to get ready for school." I said, getting up making it half was up the stairs until my mum stopped me.

"No breakfast?"

I turned and shook my head, continuing my way up to my room.

I shut the door behind me, and quickly searched my closet for something to wear. I pulled out caprees and a denim button-up shirt. I quickly put the selected clothes on, then making my way into my own bathroom. I sat up on the sink and put my hair up in a messy bun, and put a bandana on it. After, I pulled out my make-up bag and did it. I checked the clock. 7:45AM. Perfect time, since my school started at 8:00AM.

I ran downstairs and grabbed my backpack, taking a quick look at Kendall, who was waiting on the couch in the family room. I smiled at him and put my shoes on. I took his hand and walked outside with him.

"Bye mum!" We yelled as we walked out.

She waved back and shut the door.

"Are we really moving?" His voice was little as we walked to my car.

"As far as I know.. Yes." I frowned down at him.

He didn't reply. He got into the passenger seat, clicking his seatbelt in place. I went around to the other side and got into the drivers seat and started the car, driving to his elementary school.
