Behind the Hidden Face

Chapter 3

----------------------------------------------------

I woke up again, checking the clock. 2:00PM.

I looked around my room, boxes surrounding me. I turned my attention to the door. Luke's figure was towering.

"You're mom wants you to unpack all this."

"Tell MUM that I will." I joked.

He was American, he always said 'mom'.

He chuckled and left, closing the door behind him.

I sat up, looking over all the boxes. There wasn't many. I counted then. Nine. They are all pretty big so this might take awhile.

"Knock, knock." Kendall's small voice chimed outside my door.

"Come in Kendall." I laughed.

He walked in, making his way through the boxes and onto my mattress.

"Want to help me unpack?" I suggested.

"Sure! I'm already done with my room. Just not the bed yet.."

I smiled and stroked his hair, handing him a small box.

"This is bathroom stuff. Organize it well." I smiled at him as he walked into my bathroom.

After four hours of unpacking with Kendall, we finally finished. I tossed the empty boxes off the side of the balcony, where a trash can was waiting below to catch them.

"Thank you." I pulled Kendall in for a hug.

"You're welcome!" He said, lightly hugging me back and running out of my room.

I walked down the stairs. Watching my steps as I reached the bottom.

"Did you finish?" My mum asked, helping Luke put the last piece of furniture into the family room.

"Yeah," I smiled, "is that all?"

"Yep. We're done!" She smiles, plopping herself onto the couch.

I jumped over the couch, sitting next to her.

"Are you excited for tomorrow?" She asked.

"Umm," I thought, "kinda."

"You'll be fine." Luke said behind me.

I forced a smile onto my face.

"I better get in the shower, then get to sleep." I said, standing up and stretching my arms.

"Goodnight." My mum and Luke said at the same time.

"Night." I said.

I walked up the twenty one steps, wandering down the hall and into my room.

I went into my new bathroom, looking around for a towel. I found a bright pink one, and I pulled out some pajamas, too.

I turned the warm water on, setting my items on the toilet seat. I lifted the lever, turning the shower on. I slid the glass door open, lightly stepping in and feeling the warm water touch my bare skin. I faced away from the nozzle, feeling each droplet slightly hit my back. I rolled my head back, wetting my long dark brown hair. I grabbed the shampoo, squirting a little bit into my hands and stroking my hair with it. I wetting my hair again, washing the shampoo out. I grabbed the conditioner that was sitting at my feet and put a good amount into my hair. I rubbed it in, sticking my head away from the water. I grabbed a small scrub, damping it and putting a little bit of soap onto it. I scrubbed my body, making it clean. I rinsed my body, getting the soap off. I leaned my head back into the water, washing the conditioner out. I pulled the lever down, then turned the water off. I sqeezed my hair, forcing water out of it. I stepped out of the fine glass shower, closing it after me. I grabbed the towel off the seat and dried my body. I wrapped my hair up in the towel afterwards, then slipping my pajamas on. I towered in front of the mirror, brushing my teeth. I took the towel out of my hair, tossing it under the sink. I wandered out of the bathroom, turning the light off andshutting the door behind me. I jumped onto my small mattress, checking the clock.
