I'm scared, confused. I don't want to enter the kitchen. My mind is just spinning with thoughts and mixed emotions. I have to be brave. I took a deep breathe, then went into the kitchen. My mother is already sat at the table, with her pink apron on, eating her breakfast. I slowly walked towards the table, and sat down. "Good Morning Matthew! How are you feeling this morning?" Asked my mother. "I'm okay" I mumbled. "Sorry dear what did you say? I can't hear you when you mumble like that?" She said. I then became irritated for her asking me to repeat my self, so I shouted "I'm okay!" She shouted back "Don't shout at me again young man! I'm not having another fight with you like last night!" I started to feel angry, so I took a deep breathe and tried to stay relaxed. "Sorry mum, I'm sorry for shouting at you. It's just that it's too early for me and I'm still tired" my mother stood up and walked towards the kitchen counter, then brought to the table a plate of waffles with honey. She placed them in front of me. "Maybe these will help you then Matthew. To wake you up. To give you your energy. Come on, eat up! You've got a busy day today. I know Waffles with honey are your favourite. You have the same appetite as your father." I grabbed my knife and fork, then started to eat my breakfast. I couldn't help but to talk with my mouth full "Why mention Dad again? You know I don't appreciate it!"
My mum pulled a face with guilt "I can't help it. I can't go a day without missing him. I always wish he was still here, but we can't change the past now. You do know tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of his death, ever since the Hopalot boat disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean." I dropped my cutlery onto the plate and shouted "He is not dead. He is still alive! I know he is living  somewhere, even if he's living in another world. I can feel it in my bones". My mother doesn't feel that way like I do and says I'm just imagining it because I miss him  a lot. Which is true that I miss him, but it's not true that I'm imagining he is alive, because I know he is! The Supposing death of him had no answer. We never had the evidence for what happened to the Hopalot boat, so the police and investigators declared him as dead. But i believe that he is still alive!
I finished my breakfast, and went upstairs to get ready for school. The uniform code is dumb in my opinion. We have to wear a blazer, which is the colour of snot, along with a white shirt and a light blue tie. The trousers are black as well as the shoes. Broadgraph High school, here I come. Again. Also for the next 2 years. I packed my black rucksack ready. Then just stared at my Great Wall of achievements wall. My Great Wall of achievements wall is basically a wall with all of my great achievements on. For example, it holds my latest past A* papers. I am pretty much a smart kid, as you can tell. I'm in set 1 for all the subjects, apart from PE. My favourite lessons are geography and science. When I'm older, I want to travel the world being a scientist. If you ask me what is the speed of light? Then I would give you a answer in less than a second! The answer is 299792458 m/s. "Matthew! Are you ready for school? You have to be out the door soon, before I head off to work!" My mum works at a local fish and chips shop, before that job, she used to be a qualified doctor who was able to save lives. After She heard Dad died, she quit, because she couldn't cope at all when she was unable to save people's lives. She used to cry at night in her bedroom when she couldn't preserve life. "Come on Matthew I haven't got all day! Someone needs to open the shop and sell those deep fried fish from yesterday! We can't let them go to waste!" I put my Rucksack on my back then headed out of my room, downstairs, then out the door. My mum seeded me out the door along with a kiss good bye on my cheek. I wiped the kiss off, so people don't see the red lip shaped gloss at school. I am really excited for school today, since we have a 2 hour science exam!
