'I always forget to tell you, I loved you from the very first day.'
A Forgotten Friend | Shopping and Fighting
I decided not to call Eric.
Not that I didn't want to because I would've loved to make a new friend but because I didn't want to sound too desperate. How can I just give a call to someone whom I had just met at a random ice cream parlour? That would be so un-lady like, I guess.
Shrugging the thoughts off, I went to sleep.
Next day, I woke up to the most beautiful scene, ever. I saw Edward sitting at the end of my bed, flashing me his perfect bright smile, looking as handsome as ever. How could someone be so gorgeous? Wait. What is Edward doing in my room?
I rubbed my eyes and pinched myself to check whether I was dreaming or not. Fortunately, I wasn't.
"What are you doing here, Edward?"
"Is this the way to treat your best friend? I'm hurt, Rach. Anyway I'm here to tell you that we've got to go shopping for the party that your family is hosting this weekend. Don't you remember? Your mom told us yesterday that we have to go shopping. Now, get up, sleepy head." answered Edward nonchalantly.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry, I forgot." I said. With that rushed towards the bathroom while Edward headed downstairs to the kitchen. I brushed my teeth and took a quick shower. As I stepped outside the shower, I wrapped a towel around myself and went to my wardrobe to pick my outfit for the day. I settled on my black shorts, plain White t-shirt and flip-flops. I then rushed to the kitchen to have my breakfast.
When I entered the kitchen, I saw Edward sitting on one of the chairs of the dining table, reading a newspaper. I grabbed a carton of cereal and milk and had my breakfast. Then we left for the supermarket.
The supermarket was only a ten minutes drive from my place. We decided to part ways as soon as we reached, to make the shopping quick.
"Edward, I'm going to the fruits and vegetables' section while you go and buy beverages and other food supplies. I'll join you in a few minutes since it won't take that much time. Take the list. See you." I said.
"Okay, Rach. See you too."
With that I started buying fruits. The responsibility of making the dessert was given to me and Edward and we decided to make molten chocolate muffins and fruit salad for those who were health conscious. As I was buying fruits for the fruit salad, I bumped into someone.
I looked up and saw a familiar guy with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, Eric.
"Hey! What a pleasant surprise." said Eric.
"Hi!" I said.
"You never called. But I deserve to know your name, at least." said Eric.
"Oh, yeah. I'm Rachel."
"Rachel," he said," I'm Eric, you must be knowing my name since I had written it with my number."
I let out an awkward laugh and said,"Yeah..."
"So what a beautiful girl like you is doing here?" he asked.
Confused by his question, I said, "Why? Am I forbidden to come to such shops?"
He held up his hands in surrender, "Oh, no. That's not what I meant. You're obviously here to shop for groceries."
"Yeah, I'm sorry. I woke up quite early in the morning so I'm a bit grumpy. Anyway, I'm here to buy stuff for the party that my family is organising this weekend. It is just a small get-together of my family and friends which has been given the name of a party."
