Chapter 2
2 months later.
"Van, it's been two months now sweetie. You need to let go and get rid of this sulky face. Why can't you be like those other rebellious teenagers, go party and drink and get headaches? Instead, here you are; lying on this bed since a week." She sighed.
"Mom, What kind of a parent are you, encouraging your child to party and rebel? I'm your only heir, won't cost to be a little more caring." I chuckled, punching her arm slightly.
"Whatever Van, school's starting in a week and I need your room completely organized by that time." She ordered.
"Aye Aye captain." I mock saluted.
After she left, I fell on my bed again.
"It's been two months already Vanessa. He's gone, he won't come back and you know it. Why can't you just let go?" I asked myself, massaging my temple.
I stared at the frame beside my bed, Adam and I had our noses pressed together with bright smiles on our faces. Everything began to go downhill from that moment onwards. How I wish, I could rewind time. Not to change things, just to revive some moments once again.
"Vannieee." A voice called out, and in came my hyper active best friend aka Leigh.
"Ugh, what?" I merely groaned in response.
"Oh shit, I almost forgot what today is. Two months, two months since that wrecker left for good." She clenched her fists.
"Leigh, don't say that. We don't know the reason why he did it, so can you stop accusing him for the mistake we both made?"
"The mistake you both made? What was your mistake huh? Loving him endlessly while he fucked other girls? Missing him while he didn't care about you? Crying over him while he left you in ruins? Please do enlighten me." She bit back instantly. Leigh had always been extremely protective of me, but never this much.
"Leigh, we don't have any proof as to him cheating on me. What if he didn't?" I tried to reason with her.
"Her own mother told you there was a girl on his lap from the party he went to. I'm so sure that girl was his cousin sister who was removing dust from his eyes while sitting on his lap." She retorted sarcastically.
"Stop, please stop. I know this but it's difficult to cope up Lee. Please try to understand me, I am in love with him, I still am. And no matter how much I want to hate him, I know it's going to take time. Please, let it heal on its own." I tried to wipe my tears.
"Only you, Vanie, only you." She sighed and hugged me tightly.
"Let's go for a walk?" She suggested.
"Nah, not right now please. In the evening?" I asked.
"Sure, I'll pick you at 5. Don't gloat around now, get up and get going."
"Whatever."
At around 2pm, I forced myself to get the fuck up and do some work to distract me from my thoughts but that's funny because everything in my room reminded me of him. He was clouding my thoughts, my heart and my life, stomping upon it once he was done playing.
"Vanessa Marie Hudge, come down this instant. Have your lunch and leave the house, enough of this moping around miss."
"And here we go again." I sighed.
So, Happpyyy Halloween. I hope y'all have a wonderful day and do loads of trick and treating. This story might be a little slow and unconvincing at first, but trust me it does get better. This story is basically about self-realization and how Vanessa completely moves on with her life. Insight about Adam will be given in the upcoming chapters. If you were looking for a romantic story, this is a wrong place. This is a story about love, not a love story.
