I knew something was wrong when saw Evie wearing the color powder blue. I mean, her entire wardrobe is blue, but she only wore powder blue when she was in a mood. It could either mean that she was on the verge of tears, or was feeling in a 'I'll-rip-your-eyes-out' mood. I don't think she could possibly be a princess when she is such a drama queen.

We were sitting in class, when she walked in late. But not the Evie kind of "fashionably late". She's was "20 minutes late for no apparent reason" kind of late. Maybe she was feeling homesick, because after her first few weeks of school at Dragon Hall, she would being showing up 20 minutes into the day on a daily basis.

"Ms. Queen," our bore of a teacher started. "Why our you so late to class?"

"I'm not late," Evie said rudely, approaching her seat. "Everyone else is early. Feel blessed I even graced you with my presence today."

That got Evie a place she hadn't been in since the coronation. Detention.

I was explaining what Evie had done earlier in class to Mal and Carlos, and trying to find the root of her problem, when I saw green bean eating alone at lunch. Then it hit me.

I stormed up to him. Considering I saw him and Evie with each other the day before, he could be our problem.

"And to what to I owe this visit," Edwin said, with his nose in a book.

"What's up with Evie?" I asked, as Mal and Carlos caught up to me.

Mal seemed to be taken back, and then I realized that this was them meeting for the first time since he arrived.

"Good question," he said back, snakily. "I have no Idea where E is. Especially when we were gonna eat lunch together."

The cold blowing in the courtyard was only heating my temper up.

"You can't call her E. E is reserved for her friends," I shot at him.

"Well you see Jay," Edwin began. "Friend is the tricky word there. I mean, if you really think I can change here, then you could try to show me some friendship. Evie has been the only one to show friendship to me in a while. Isn't that right Carlos?"

Carlos looked awestruck with that last sentence, and that's when Mal had enough. Coincidentally that's when Ben walked over. But knowing Edwin, it may have not been a coincidence.

"Get over it Edwin," Mal snapped. "We were evil back then. We have repented, and feel terrible. But let's be real here, you were a freak back then. You were obsessed with magic, and now that you have the privilege to do magic, can't even pull a rabbit out of a hat!"

Ben seemed taken back, and the courtyard went quiet.

"I may not have a spell book, at least not yet, but don't doubt my magic."

Things were intense between everyone. Mal seemed flaming, Ben and Carlos didn't know what to do, and I was in the same boat as Ben and Carlos.

"I thought I may have escaped your bullying on the Isle, Mal," Edwin stated. "But, it seems it still lurks here. If attacking me in the courtyard is what you call repentance, then you may have the wrong definition of repentance."

I needed to say something to break the silence, but what could I say.

I tried with, "We just want to know if Evie seems upset to you."

"I will most definitely ask her later, when we go shopping together. I've become her certified fashion consultant."

We then all turned and walked away. Mal and Ben went one way, as Ben began to ask questions Mal couldn't refuse the answers to anymore. Carlos and I went towards the Tourney field to get some practice in before tomorrow's game. With one thing on all of our minds we all knew, we had just made and enemy of Edwin West.
