Alexandra
She sighed as she walked out of the operating room in her blue scrubs and into the wash room.
She had just finished two hours of emergency trauma surgery on a teenage boy that had been hit by a car. She looked over at the nurses with a tired smile as she turned towards the waiting room were the boy's parents were waiting for the news. At least she had some good news, but the bad news might outweigh the good in some eyes.
She walked out into the waiting room to see the boy's mother and father huddled together with the rest of the family.
"Is my baby okay?" The mother asked as tears poured down her cheeks and Alexandra took a breath.
"You son is out of surgery, but he will have permanent spine damage. He will never walk again. I'm so sorry" she said quickly and the father broke down into tears.
"You can see him when he is out of poet op in a few hours" she said softly and walked away giving them privacy.
Alexandra sat down in the locker room and pulled out her phone. She had several messages from Bri her best friend/ adopted family. Alex had lost both parents when she was four and Bri's family took her in as their own daughter. Bri had gone to law school while Alex had gone to medical school, but her adopted parents refused to let her pay them back. Both girls moves out to New York City together and shared an apartment.
Bri: it's time for you to go out. I set up a blind date for you tomorrow night at the fancy restaurant you always wanted to go to. You can thank me later. Mom and dad are coming to visit in a few weeks I want you to have someone so we can introduce both our significant others to them. Love you, sis. BTW I'm with Bryant so I might me really late tonight.
Alex: Bri, why? You know I hate meeting new people, especially men. I don't want to go out with some guy I have never met.
Bri: YOU ARE GOING!!! END OF STORY!!
Alex: Fine... Go have fun, sis. Don't forget to use protection! ;-)
Bri: Text me if you need me. Love you, sis.
Alex: love you too.
Alex put her phone on the bench as she changed into clean scrubs and grabbed her purse before shutting her locker.
She walked out to the parking lot with her keys in hand and got in her cute little red Mini Cooper. The clock in the dash read 23:45 (11:45 pm) as she put the car into drive and sped out of the lot. She was going to grab pizza on the way home and go unwind at home by watching super hero shoes on TV.Alek
The massive man with blonde hair looked at his phone as it buzzed.
Unknown: The money has been transferred.
Alek immediately opened is baking app and smiled as he saw the man had paid him the full 56,000$ plus a little extra. He was about to land in NYC for business with some old colleagues from home, the mafia. They were willing to pay top dollar for his help getting rid of a little problem. Then he was going home to Russia.
"Mr. Sevasten, the plane will be landing soon so you might want to buckle up" the man in all dark colors. He was Alek's head of security because Alek's parents had handed Shadow Tech Industries over to him which even though he was a ruthless killer in reality it used his day life a a way to hide who he was.
"Then you'd better do the same, Erik" he muttered in annoyance and the large bulky bodyguard took a seat, but Alek was at least four to six inches taller than the brute.
After the place landed Erik grabbed some of his boss's luggage, but Alek carried to silver metal cases one a foot in length and the other was almost a meter long. Erik had never dare peek inside of those cases because he was some what afraid of his boss for reasons he couldn't place.
Alek got into the back of the back lifter H2 and put the cases in the bench seat behind him.
"To the hotel, Mr. Sevasten?" Erik asked and the young man nodded curtly, but said nothing.
The drive to the hotel took about thirty minutes and Alek had rented the two story penthouse for himself and another room for Erik.
Alek poured himself a glass of vodka from the bar and sat on the couch in front of the coffee table where there were a multitude of weapons mostly guns and knives, but there were a few other interesting things in the mix. For example, he had a garrote cord, and explosive throwing stars. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number that was unsaved number.
"It's Alek" he said, his Russian accent sounded heavy as he spoke into the phone.
"Alek, I was worried that you would not come" the other Russian said into the phone and Alek scowled.
"You are an old friend, Vlad" he muttered and the Mafia man laughed.
"I trained you to use your first knife and shoot your first gun, but you turned it into an art" the client muttered and Alek took a drink of his vodka.
"So who is the target?"! He muttered and the man on the other end hesitated for a second.
"It's some politician who is trying to mess with profits" the man said and Alek frowned.
"Name" he pressed and the Russian said nothing for a minute.
"Richard Vasquez" the man said and Alek blinked.
"It will be done within the week" he said coldly.
"The usual payment?" The mafia man asked.
"Yes" Alek said curtly and hung up the phone.
He took a deep breath as he took in the information and threw back the whole glass of vodka.
Richard Vasquez was a dirty politician working for the cartels and he was a pain in the ass for the Russian mafia. However, he was also a very rich man with lots of friends in high places. This would not be impossible, but it was not the easiest hit for Alek either. It would take much more planning than most.AN:
