I awoke after the strange twins had attacked us, and ruined Charlotte's wedding.
They had managed to capture Chase and I, and I was not happy to be back in captivity. Ten years out in the open country had my fear of other people minimized and I didn't have to worry about clawing anyone who came to close to me.
Hearing your parents get murdered right after learning that they were your real parents was not how you wanted to spend your final minutes as a human. Now I'd have to carry that disturbing sound with me for the rest of my existence...yay.
My hands were bound behind me and I couldn't see. There was no use putting a gag over my mouth, I'd probably just end up chewing through it.
"Chase?" I whispered. Gathering knowledge from all the movies I'd ever watched about kidnap, I knew that it pissed them off when you talked too loud, which was stupid, because they hadn't gagged us in the first place.
No answer. F*ck how they'll feel about me talking. I shouted, "Chase?!" I moved around a little and fell onto a body.
"Please don't be dead," I whispered. I wasn't stupid enough to check for a pulse (I couldn't anyway), this was one of the few times I wished he was human.
I didn't know how long it was until the van ceased moving, but it finally came to an uncomfortable, bumpy stop. I was yanked from the trunk, and jostled through alot of twisting hallways, finally to be dumped unceremoniously onto a carpet that smelled ancient and disgusting.
My blindfold was torn off and I took in a large room full of shelves. All the shelves had tiny bottles on them and every bottle was full of a glowing blue liquid. Apart from the shelves, two people lay unconsious beside me.
Golden curls spilt across Chase's forehead, adhered by blood from a new gash on his head. I tried to reach for him, but was suddenly horrified by the identity of the second captive. Turquoise butterfly wings were crushed beneath a slight male body, black hair covered eyes that I knew would be sapphire blue if they were open.
At my trial all but one Salemite had died. They had all been killed by infighting that became a flash war, but one. . . This one.
Elias, the faerie Salemite.
