Treat
Before entering the shop through its main doors, since may isang door din dun sa bandang likod, costumers are greeted by the sweet scent of the shop that I personally chose.
Illuminated by a pair of crystal chandeliers and by natural light streaming through the wide windows. This shop has a sloped ceiling that makes the space look and feel bigger than it actually is.
The shop is an interesting marriage of contrasting elements. It bears the formal elegance of marble, the modern feel of stainless steel, and the warmth of distressed wood.
Nakakadagdag din sa pagiging appealing ng shop ang kulay Mint, White, at Cotton candy pink na siya'ng kulay ng bawat wallpaper na nakadikit sa bawat ding ding dito.
The upholstered chairs and the glass top tables almost filled every corner of the shop.
I directly entered the shop and the workers greeted me warmly.
"Good morning Miss Yanna" A young working student greeted me as I passed the counter area
I genuinely smile "Good morning Selena"
Pumunta na ako sa loob ng isang maliit na office ko kung saan ko minsan ginagawa ang mga bagay bagay. Doon daw kasi nag aantay sina Carly at Maddie.
"Sa wakas!" Carly squealed
I just rolled my eyes on her
Tumayo si Maddie sa inuupuan niya sabay lapag ng binabasang magazine sa coffee table
"Anong gagawin mo today?" Tanong niya sakin ng nakapamewang
Umupo ako sa may swivel chair "Tinapos ko na lahat ng gawain ko dito sa shop kagabi kaya free na ko today"
Carly suddenly clapped her hands "Coffee o Movie?"
"Coffee nalang kaya" I suggested
Since, exclusive for cupcakes lang talaga tong shop, sa ibang cafè kami umiinom ng coffee. Yun din kasi ang isa sa mga bonding moments namin—ang uminom ng kape habang masayang nag uusap.
We used my car since they decided na sa isang sasakyan lang kami sasakay para mas madali. Para na rin mas makakapag kwentuhan pa kami. Mas masaya din kasi yun.
"We're here" I parked the car on an empty side of the parking lot
"So what the two of you want ba?" Maddie asked us
Carly and I smiled, knowing what's in each others mind. If Maddie asked some questions like this, we already knew what it actually means
HER TREAT!
"Your treat?" I asked Maddie
She nodded. We—I and Carly suddenly grinned, raising our brows up and down
Good girl.
"What does this sudden treat means ba?" Carly asked Maddie after sipping her coffee
Maddie just shrugged and sheepishly smiled
In my whole damn 10 years na kasama ko tong babaeng to. Ngayon ko lang ulit nakita si Maddie na ganito kasaya, simula 'nung nag break sila nung boyfriend niyang ulol. Parang may iba sa kanya.. Parang bumabalik na yung in love na Maddie. Don't tell me..
I arched my left brow and faced her "Teka, paki explain nga kung anong ibig sabihin nitong palibre libre mong to Madison Andrews?"
"Sabihin nalang nating, I've already grown up and I am totally and surely moved on" She said grinning
"Anong grown up, grown up na sinasabi mo'ng yan? Grown up" Sabi ni Carly sabay nag ma-make face.
Sa aming tatlong makakaibigan, tanging si Maddie lang ang nagkaboyfriend. College kami nung naging sila ni Yule—her first boyfriend but they ended up into nothing. Yule cheated on her, and we don't know the real reason behind that. In that moment, I just wanna kick his balls off because of what he did to Maddie but I didn't grab the chance because the next thing I know, he kick his own ass off to New York. That's one of the reason why I don't want to commit into a relationship. It's just a pain in my ass! I saw how Maddie almost killed herself just because of that break up. Gezz!
Yup, I know that it's really hard to believe that Carly and I never had a boyfriend since forever but, that's the fvcking truth.
"Just tell us straight forward" I said before sipping through my coffee. Honestly, I'm getting annoyed with this bastard.
"I'm dating someone" She giggled
Carly and I just gave her a I'm-happy-for-you look in a bored way nga lang. We used to it. She dated those guys she met in an event she attended, then after a week, a month, she just dumped them. Poor guys.
She suddenly frowned "Aren't you two happy?"
"You know what Maddie, we used to it. But, there really is something with this guy you dated that you suddenly gave us a treat. You're not like that..I mean, you don't look like that happy when you dated those..who are those different guys you met in those streets. I don't know where'd you meet them. Iba din kasi yung glow na binigay sayo ng sinong lalaki man yang ka date mong yan" Carly shrugged and explained like somewhat.. a MOTHER.
Maddie giggled like a teenager who is so kilig because her crush suddenly noticed her. Gezz! It's gross! "He's extremely different from those guys I've dated. And correction Carly my dear, hindi ko basta bastang na me-meet yung mga lalaking yun sa mga kanto kanto lang. Why the hell I should date those kind of guys? Actually, I'm starting to like the man I've been dating this past few weeks"
Napa face-palm ako. Oh God! Are we too old to experience this kind of shits? It feels like parang na delay ang pagka teenager namin.
"So, who's this lucky guy then?" I asked
"The one and only Craig!" she squealed
I smirked "At talagang kapangalan pa talaga ng Kuya ko ha?"
"Actually, he is" she smiled
The heck? Maddie is dating my brother? Hell NO!
