She believed blindly,
followed without thought.
Never thinking, always believing.
She had faith even through the pain.
Watching them suffer, she prayed and prayed.
She cried, begged, just wanted them to be at peace.
No matter how much she prayed she still lost him to the drugs.
Still lost her friend to the blade of a razor end of a knife.
Still she believed, prayed, weeped for them. She
kept hearing stories about rapes, abuse,
people being gunned down in
the streets for the color
of their skin.
And still she
prayed.
