Before I start, remember that I am by no means a great author. I don't plan, and I mainly write whatever comes to mind. Please tell me how I can improve, and thanks for reading!

Heralds POV
BBBBLLLLLLLLZZZAAARRRT
Ugh. My alarm clock.
As I lifted myself out of bed, I realized a note.
Hey! Went out to work. Sorry, but the coffee machine isn't working, so you'll have to stop at a coffee shop.
XOXO, -Bella
Ugh. More money out of our account.
I pulled up my pants and shifted onto my shirt, nearly throwing myself into the nightstand.
I walked through the hallway, and heard a stifling cough.
As I walked towards the source of the sound, I heard a wheezing noise. I noticed my 13year old daughter on the floor,  rasping for a breath.
"What's going on Samantha?"
"Hhhhahahhheeeeellllllppp..."
I fished out my phone and dialed 911.
"911 what's your emergency?"
"Please help me, my daughter cannot breathe, and she..."
"Sir, where are you currently?"
"I'm in my home, but please..."
"Can I get a address?"
"581 Sunflower Drive"
"Sir, please calm down."
"Please hurry!"
"I'm sending the paramedics. Please stay on the line. How is your daughter doing at this moment?"
As I asked her how she was holding up, I realized she had fallen unconscious.
"She's unconscious! Please help me!"
I felt like a troll screaming into the phone.
"Sir the paramedics are on their way."
I heard the sirens, and hung up the phone. As I rushed outside holding my daughter, a paramedic grabbed her. He put her in the ambulance, and made a motion showing me to come forwards.
"I cannot go, I need to work!"
"What's your number, we will call you when there's an update"
"• ••• ••• ••••."
"Ok, I'll make sure we call you!"
As I rushed in my car to work,  I quickly called Angie, our chief correspondent.
"How is everything so far?"
"You need to get down here. Now."
"That doesn't sound good."
She hung up and I sped up, going far enough over the speed limit to burn it. She sounded distressed, as if it was a emergency.
As I approached the parking lot, I realized we were empty. She ran over to the car and explained how the workers were on strike.
"Show me."
She nodded and grabbed my hand, walking hastily with her heels making that signature click clack sound.
Oh no, no no no no!!! This can't be happening!
"No pages, higher wages!"
Shouted the possibly thirty protestors. "Please! Do not protest!"
As I yelled those words, I felt a blunt force to my head. I collapsed to the ground. As my vision blurred, I put my hand on the painful blow to the head. I held my hand up to my eyes and saw blood. A lot of it.  And with that, I fell unconscious.
